Re: First Show on July 18

No matter what social distancing procedures have been put in place, isn't this considered a mass gathering which under current Covid-19 restrictions should not take place.? Brian Maybe that is why you are not permitted to leave your zone and gather at the fence, it is then considered to be lots of ...

Reading the description of this event, makes you realise what a huge mountain Duxford have to climb, in order to stage an event later this year. :worried:

Re: The Red Arrows will be moving to.....

Mildly off topic... It's my birthday on Thursday and the mrs and I are both off work, considering visiting Scampton to catch the Reds practising. They haven't gone elsewhere yet, have they? Have they been up lately? Cheers No definitely not, still there and flying regularly. I am not sure if they s...

Or maybe they are driving an automatic. Indeed. I drive an automatic and and I sit with my foot on the brake when stopped at lights. There's not much choice really. Forgive my ignorance but do automatics not have a handbrake for stationary use ? Eh? Not much choice really For the last 3 years I hav...

Re: Is anybody happy with the Brexit white paper?

I can't even remember if I want to leave or remain. Does anyone actually care anymore? It's like when you have an argument at home - after about an hour no one can remember why you started arguing in the first place, so you just sort of stop and go back to how you were before. Please, can we just d...

Sat at home, no rain, some sun. Far better than the forecast suggested. At the moment the doom and gloom forecast does appear to have been far too pessimistic.

Have a great day all of those who are at Old Warden.

I'm a little surprised not to see a final flying list for Sunday by now.

Unfortunately the forecast does look as though it is rather like it might all be irrelevant.

Have the Saturday tickets already gone up or is it a financial penalty to persuade you to give RIAT a miss next year? Marked as current price £54 and full price £59. Sunday at £49 So does this mean we get another *amazing* Sunday flypast? Maybe one with 8 jet engines this time? Maybe they are alrea...

I presume the runway length is mariginal for jets landing back in the wet? Seemed odd as they started the engines and sat with them running in very heavy rain, the runway was not dry at the time they started?

Re: Duxford Battle of Britain Airshow 2019

Today's show had looked fantastic on paper, particularly the T33, DH9 (having had it go u/s at Legends), the Sea Furys and Lysander's all a little bit different to the standard Duxford lineup. Potentially my best show of the year. In actual fact, it fell a long way short of that. This was of course ...

Re: Victory Show, Cosby 2019

There were some gaps largely due to some very expeditious Parachute drops, which took a lot less time than allocated. Unfortunately we have to plan for the worst with 20-25 mins in the programme, based on previous experience, required and requested time. Oddly the programme on paper for yesterday w...

My first visit to the Victory show on a Sunday, always Saturday previously. The flying display didn't seem to quite work for me today, much longer gaps than I recall previously, a few missing display items too, only two Bouchon. The whole event seemed a little low key this year, I am not sure if tha...

Not to mention, what other airshows do we have to choose from in October? (November, December etc etc)

So whilst some of the aircraft are not necessarily my favoured era, it will be a long old wait until next May.
