Re: COVID-19: Your Thoughts and it's effects on you.

The other thing I see is if some random person phones you and tells you to isolate for two weeks, then would you? Especially if it meant losing two weeks wages for what could be no reason at all . If you could get a test to find out then I am sure more people would take notice. And that right there...

BoB HITT? I assume that is the Battle of Britain, but what about HITT?

Any suggestions, please?

Re: Battle of Britain Airshow 2020 - Cancelled

Interesting news today that Aero Legends are going ahead with their airshow at Headcorn. Part of me feels that if Duxford really wanted to host this show, they could’ve used the showcase days as trial runs, set up cones, paint lines for social distancing etc but from what I read, there was nothing....

New show date 18th October Season finale?

To ward off my Duxford disappointment I decided to book tickets to the remaining two Old Warden shows, the theory being they are now likely to be on greater demand.. It appears there are now 3, 27th September De Havilland, 4th October Race celebration and the 18th October Season finale. So I now hav...

Re: COVID-19: Your Thoughts and it's effects on you.

Indeed. I can get the logic, but the execution seems a bit pish. The point of lockdown, and the economic devastation it has wrought, was twofold. To stop the NHS from being overwhelmed, which succeeded, and to set up an adequate testing and tracing programme, which has failed. We can’t keep going t...

Here we go again - Lockdown Two. And be honest, when was the last time you met up with more than 5 other people who weren't in one of the groups mentioned above? Or is that just me?! Two families of two adults and two children will no longer be able to meet. I think it will make a huge difference t...

Re: Flying Legends to cease at Duxford

In his radio interview Nick Grey seemed positive, and also stated they didn't want to move far. Perhaps they've already struck a deal with Marshall's to hold it there..... There aren't exactly a lot of options to 'not move far'. The only obvious one of course is Old Warden, but would Legends...

Thats interesting, Brian. I'd hadn't realised London was still so quiet. Maybe a good time to re-visit the IWM, especially with the Cambridge to King's Cross train being nigh on empty. Sid. I was there the week before last, amazingly quiet. A tube into Westminster on a weekday morning with just a h...

Re: Flying Legends to cease at Duxford

Are there any other locations that allow the use of both a hard-surface runway and a broad expanse of grass for those unique mass takeoffs, 3 or 4 abreast?

I am not aware of any?

Re: Flying Legends to cease at Duxford

This seems to be an incredibly short-sighted and stupid decision by IWM. Duxford's unique appeal, is a living museum, with an active airfield, serving a stunning array of historic aircraft. This must surely mark the beginning of the end for Duxford as we know it? If the historic aircraft operators l...

Re: First Show on July 18

No matter what social distancing procedures have been put in place, isn't this considered a mass gathering which under current Covid-19 restrictions should not take place.? Brian Maybe that is why you are not permitted to leave your zone and gather at the fence, it is then considered to be lots of ...

Reading the description of this event, makes you realise what a huge mountain Duxford have to climb, in order to stage an event later this year. :worried:

Mildly off topic... It's my birthday on Thursday and the mrs and I are both off work, considering visiting Scampton to catch the Reds practising. They haven't gone elsewhere yet, have they? Have they been up lately? Cheers No definitely not, still there and flying regularly. I am not sure if they s...

I can't even remember if I want to leave or remain. Does anyone actually care anymore? Sat at home, no rain, some sun. Far better than the forecast suggested. At the moment the doom and gloom forecast does appear to have been far too pessimistic.

Have a great day all of those who are at Old Warden.

Unfortunately the forecast does look as though it is rather like it might all be irrelevant.

Have the Saturday tickets already gone up or is it a financial penalty to persuade you to give RIAT a miss next year? Marked as current price £54 and full price £59. Sunday at £49 So does this mean we get another *amazing* Sunday flypast? Maybe one with 8 jet engines this time? Maybe they are alrea...
