Re: RAF Cosford Airshow 2025 - 8th June

As usual, I treat Cosford as a family day out and the cancellations were more of a bind to my daughters/partners than myself; particularly the Apache demo and expectant explosions and bangs. I've seen Rafale and will see it again presumably, along with the Army choppers if Boeing fixes the gremlins ...

If I remember correctly the Jaguar used to take off directly from Cosford, so I’m always surprised as to why a Typhoon couldn’t.
Harrier maybe, Jaguar no.
Lots of aircraft types have landed at Cosford, but not taken off again!

Pretty slim pickings of seeing them at RIAT this year, Swedens schedule did not have RIAT on it, Hungry are not sending out their Gripens for display this year and the Czechs said they might send one for display depending on operational commitments but they said the same back in 2022 and nothing ap...

Re: Military Air Show - 31st May

The programme for the season premiere mentioned that five visitors from Europe were planned for this season - Corsair, Nieuport, Fokker, Sabre - but what was the fifth? Well, they've added the Anson I for the Military airshow, making its northern hemisphere airshow debut, having previously been in ...

Throwback to 1988 when their display at Bentwaters was way beyond safe limits due to the cloud base, only for disaster to strike a weekend later at Ramstein. Chaos? Guts and Breathtaking return? or a team with a repeating history? The biggest differense between '88 and '25 is that the rules of disp...

Decent day out, early high cloud rapidly burnt off to a very pleasant sunny day. Nice to shoot an entire air force's inventory in the sun, moreover to shoot every front line asset in the form of the complete Rafale fleet lined up. Only 10 or so items in the flying, spread between scheduled airport ...

I've just been online to the Shuttleworth and found that the tickets have jumped up to £42. That's a lot bearing in mind just how speculative the weather is. This will have to do more than shape up nicely for that. I'll check back later to see if it's worth the money. Well they have had to fork out...

Re: Season Premiere - 11th May

Id love to know what these legislative arrangements are. Absolute nonsense I bet. I'm at a loss to see exactly who it benefits; certainly not the devoted airshow goers who go to pretty much every show and have done so for decades. Still, at least the Porsche owners had the best position, even though...
