I think UKAR as an entity does have a place and should continue to exist. However, I think the current format is stale and has not moved with the times, and this is reflected in the malaise in current interactions and topics, and the need for this topic in particular. The early ones were a single letter and then up to 4 numbers following, then once the Zs were reached we moved onto AA. The logical step would(could) be for us to move onto 3 letters, starting AAA, but I wouldn't know if the three number format would be kept, or if they'd drop to two.... either way...

Hi, It seems that 3 new aircarft types may enter RAF service ( could be civil registered ) Grob Aircraft G120TP Beechcraft T-6C Embraer Phenom 100 Bye, Pieter Well, UKSerials website ( http://www.ukserials.com ) is listing some ZM serials for these, so seems to be military registered after all.

Well, only 4 or so years ago Nimrod was scrapped overnight and guess what - they now want Poseidon! It makes my blood boil because of the jobs and our money lost on the Nimrod project when if they had mothballed the airframes until a later date... this incompetent bunch of useless political fools. ...
