Re: Paint advice required.

For what it’s worth I’ve been using the Hataka red range with an airbrush and I’ve been pleased with the results. The problems have all been due to my poor airbrushing skills!

Re: Jersey Airport; a grand day out.

Thank you Robin for your view on the airshow. I was fortunate with the weather for most of the day although due to drizzle I could hear the Noratlas arriving back long before I saw it!

Jersey Airport; a grand day out.

When the Swedish Airforce Historic Flight were first listed on the Jersey Airshow website only the Tunnan and Draken were down to display. Having seen both at the previous Zeltweg show I was in two minds about booking a day trip to the island of Jersey as it was the Viggen I most wanted to see. Fort...

Dunsfold Final Wings & Wheels-End of an era

When a pair of Hurricanes finished their display yesterday (Sunday 16th June), Dunsfold Park had hosted its final Wings & Wheels show. The first event was held in 2005 and Dunsfold Park is to be developed for housing. Whilst the weather was in the main overcast with showers there were over both ...

These are well composed and processed images. I was disappointed by the number of mine ruined by heat haze both at Yeovilton and a couple of other shows last year. An impressive set!

Re: Headcorn Display Friday/Saturday (Sunday added)

Being local it was impossible not to return for a third day. The wind was noticeably stronger which meant the C-47 para-drop was re-scheduled for later in the day. The BBMF Chipmunk appeared with "spares" and was a welcome sight for those of us whose can recall dayglo markings on various a...

A Spotters Day the French Way

Following an overnight stay in Val de Reuil (30 minutes from Evreux) it required an early start to arrive at the gate by 0700. The queue was slow but the security checks on both vehicles and passengers thorough. Following a welcoming talk by the base commander and having been handed coffee and a Spo...

Thank you for you comments. I was fortunate to obtain a Nikon Coolscan LS5000 recently which was unopened and has improved my scans over the Minolta Dimage I had previously used. How easy it was to take the Lightnings and Jaguars for granted! https://c1.staticflickr.com/3/2821/32382157304_2840571395...

RAF Coningsby Open Day June 1986-more added

Sometimes the weather "plays ball" and provides sun and clear skies. On 14th June 1986 the RAF showed off its new Tornado F.2s, and Coningsby opened its doors. An added bonus was the F.2s leaving to take part in the Queens birthday flypast over London. Having finally managed to find a dece...

Zeltweg; Airpower at its best.

This was my third visit to Zeltweg and it justified a 0500 start from Graz. The usual arrangements for "Spotters" were excellent, with some traditional Austrian fare for breakfast included. I only managed the Friday (previous attendance on Saturdays had suggested the place would uncomforta...

Re: Thai Tweet

Here are a few more. It wasn't the easiest of places to find how to get there, but the following may be of use if anyone intends visiting. We took the Skytrain from central Bangkok (the Sukhumvit Line) to Mo Chit where we got a taxi. Its best to get a metered taxi which prevents the need to haggle! ...

Thai Tweet

The result of a recent visit to the Royal Thai Air Force museum, on the edge of Don Mueang airport, Bangkok. Apart from a school trip there appeared no-one else around which made photography easier. I think some of the aircraft had been taken outside for an event in one of the hangars. An impressive...
