Re: RIAT 2021 Participation and Discussion Thread
Let’s just hope the organisation has the resources to see this thru and survive.
I mean it must be a huge financial blow to have to cancel one show ,let alone two back to back.

Re: RIAT 2021 Participation and Discussion Thread
Only time will tell I guess... Remember thou that this participation could have been agreed months ago or even years ,most of the display teams alternate on a regular basis at RIAT, it’s positive to see that at the very least display acts are pencilling in the show but Iam still looking at the reali...

Re: RIAT 2021 Participation and Discussion Thread
Announcement today that everyone 50 and over should be all jabbed up by May is encouraging but the issue remains that all the uncertainty that’s leading up to the “endgame”would have given any organiser of any show a nightmare ,most annual large events start the organisation virtually straight after...

Re: RIAT 2021 Participation and Discussion Thread
I think it’s coming to a point where the show is now less than 6 months away and people need to start looking ahead in some form as best they can to the scenario and if the show will take place or not.
DBH, appreciate the fluid scenario and dilemma you find yourself in but an announcement is pressing!

Re: RIAT 2021 Participation and Discussion Thread
But what do I know! About the same as the rest of the general public? Your thoughts are quite plausible. I had previously posted that I felt Glastonbury was slightly less than 50:50 and RIAT slightly more. It's a close call either way but I remain an island of optimism in a sea of pessimism. As I s...

Re: RIAT 2021 Participation and Discussion Thread
If this show goes ahead then I will be amazed quite frankly, if you think of the logistics involved with air attaches ,accommodation, diplomatic processes, training of air demo crews, these things are not on any priority list anytime soon for governments, just trying to function in any normal way is...

Re: RIAT 2021 Participation and Discussion Thread
Another factor which isn’t so obvious but has been touched on is that are Air Forces going to have the assets to actually send to the show? This whole pandemic has turned the World on it’s head and each country is dealing with restrictions and financial burdens not seen since WW2! It’s encouraging t...

Re: RIAT 2021 Participation and Discussion Thread
I really hope the show in 2021 can go ahead...but despite the recent upbeat communication from the boss man, I really can’t see how any large scale event can take place until we turn the tide significantly with the mass vaccination process, that’s hoping that they do work on these new strains of the...

Re: Possible format for RIAT2021
I think the way forward with large scale events/travel to other countries is that you will have to prove you have had the Covid Vaccine, like a vaccine passport you could say, either that or enough of the population would have to been vaccinated to deem the risk of catching or spreading Covid neglig...

Re: Possible format for RIAT2021
Good to hear ...maybe the mass quick testing that’s being rolled out in Liverpool may hold the answer to allowing large scale events to take place?

Re: Duxford Shows: 2020
Until a vaccine or cure is found any large outdoor event isn’t going to happen, it’s as simple as that, the very core of this pandemic is the fact that it’s easily transmissible with people in built up , confined spaces ,all it takes it a small ratio of attendees to have the virus to start a signifi...

Hey all,
Hope you are keeping safe and healthy...
Assuming if we purchased FRIAT this year then that’s going to roll over to next year?
Take care all and stay positive

Think we need to basically accept that any events, not just aviation are going to be cancelled for the foreseeable future, just write off 2020 has Covid year!

Re: RIAT 2020
Anyone just get an email saying
“introducing our new CEO”
Strange email as he doesn’t really go into his attributes of why he has this position but more of why the grass isn’t cut at RIAT lol!!
