Unlikely to be on anybodies to do list this year. MAKS 2023 has been officially cancelled due to the security risk.
More likely due to lack of sales prospects.

Re: RAF Coltishall

Nice photos. They’re not ‘Operational Evaluation Unit’ aircraft as your caption states. 41 Squadron Jaguars at the time of your photos were used in the low level reconnaissance role. When the remaining Jaguars went to Coningsby before Coltishall closed, they were all with 6 Squadron. 41 Squadron tra...

Re: Anyone here remember 'That' 2004 Merlin Incident?

I remember the incident as I posted some images on here at the time. Within minutes of posting them however I was contacted by one of the team requesting I take them down as it could result in them getting into trouble. I took them down immediately and no harm was done. Red smoke can clearly be seen...

Re: Canon Camera Query .

Why would you need another body I'm guessing that's a question (no question mark.) If you were photographing a distant flying aircraft which required using a telephoto zoom or fixed focus lens and another aircraft was taxiing past soon after, requiring a standard or wider angle, changing lenses cou...

Re: First F35s to Marham 5th June

I'm sure the MoD are as happy with the brief, trite sound bites resulting from Mr Snow's "jolly" as they are with the investment in their new jets. I'm having difficulty coming to terms with the cost effectiveness of such an aircraft / aircraft carrier combo (a soft target if ever there wa...

If the flower garden doesn't consist of the RAF100 logo made from flowers, I'm going to be somewhat disappointed. http://prolandscapermagazine.com/martyn-wilson-raf100-garden/ A mixture of topiary shaped balls Is there a message hidden there, or did they mean "ball-shaped topiary"?

Makes the Eden Centre look pretty silly, IMO. Where's their big ugly shed with a restaurant/ cafe facility situated directly next to a sewage farm?

Re: Where has XH558 thread gone?

I think we are going into fiction land again guys. The elephant in the room (or Vulcan,) is the fact that what is being proposed is nothing more than an air museum with one exhibit, two if you include the Canberra. The exhibit is not unique. How on earth can you build a business case for such a set...

Re: RAF Marham Enthusiasts Day 6th July

As it was billed as an "Enthusiasts Day" rather than a "Photocall" this probably explains why the location selected was poor from a photographic point of view, although it was handy for the Hot Pit refuelling. This probably explains why there are so few images posted here of the ...

Re: UKAR in 2017: What For The Future?

I think Facebook (with specific groups,) has made fora (?) such as UKAR less useful to the enthusiast. The internet is a source of information and social connection and UKAR no longer provides that service. However I still look here occasionally to make sure I'm not missing something but my accesses...

I had no idea Marinell had been sold. Is it staying in this country? I've never seen it, despite a number of attempts its alluded me. Nik Coleman (the Hardwick Warbirds spokesman,) mentioned that Marinell departed for its new owner in Europe on the day of the accident. A quick search on G-INFO give...

2016 review.

2016 was a bit of a thin year for me (I seem to have said something similar last year.) It started at RAF Lossiemouth for Joint Warrior 16-1 with a deployment of some Turkish F-16s, MPAs and various support aircraft, not forgetting the locals: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v142/MikePix/2016/F-16...

A question - last photo, bottom right- there's a Phantom with the tail code M? - but doesn't look like MY - the only M code I can think of was on the Moody based a/c. Anybody any ideas what it could be? Thanks. The F-4D with the MC tail code is 65-0583 which was visiting from McDill AFB. http://img...

Luke AFB Phantoms September 1979

A packed ramp at Luke. Apart from a load of Luftwaffe Starfighters and the then new F-15s the bulk of the based aircraft were these F-4Cs and 'Ds of the 58th TFTW. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v142/MikePix/USA/F-4C-Luke63-7550-SE79_zpsibwhdqo1.jpg~original http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v142...

Re: The BBC2 RAF Display programmes

What muppet chose the commentator with his infuriatingly affected delivery? Ruined the programme for me and left me longing for the tones of a Bob Danvers Walker or Raymond Baxter, even Harry Enfield's Chalmondoley Warner would have been preferable to the nauseous drivel offered up.
