Re: The Jet Provost that nobody likes!
I don't know if Red Bull would have had the enthusiasm to pour in the money for a repair like the Vixen currently requires. The P-38 yes, its a more valuable aircraft in airworthy condition. But a Sea Vixen, I think it would have been turfed out or offered for sale as is to be honest. No takers, scr...

I remember a Ryanair 737 flight to Malmo (Brussels) once, that I was surprised to still see the undercarriage in place after the landing, think the pilot was worried it may roll off the deck the way he put it down.

Re: The Jet Provost that nobody likes!
Towards the end of the service life of the JP, at least one was painted black, for conspicuity trials, and at least one (XW333) has been accepted by the CAA to fly in the black/RAF scheme, without it's registration, on that basis. Really? Got to be honest it passed me by if it did. The last JPs wer...

Big rumblies
Several times over the last few hours or so there have been some heavy rumblings (not my Cumberland Pie either) over the South Shropshire/Mid-Wales/North Herefordshire border, echoing around and reverberating substantially. Any info on what's above the clouds?

Re: RIAT 2021 Participation and Discussion Thread
Ironically, for me personally, going back to "the good old days" of a simpler RIAT would be an improvement. What are you terming as a simpler IAT though? FIAT/FRIAT has been operating since at least 1983, with access to the arrivals and departures being the main selling point as everyone can get in...

Remarkably good results considering its near darkness, really atmospheric.

Re: RAFM disposals
I actually enjoy playing devil's advocate, so apologies in advance. If you look at the RAFM's policy, the museum is basically there to tell the 'RAF story'. As both World Wars were integral to that story, it makes sense to have several aircraft from the opponent's side in the collection to balance ...

I wonder if it will still be a Face Covering wearing requirment and proof of having the jab as ther shows requirment - kind of think it is all they could do really as it would be impossible to keep 250.000 people apart at Fairford. This and the 48 hour challenge has ignited my love for aircraft again. Whilst most of the ones I've put up are bad. I'll still do i...
