Re: RIAT 2024 - discuss most things thread

they were moaning about the freedom fighters not flying and them getting the patrouille suisse confirmed. Quite right they should moan, the Swiss don't fly Freedom Fighters! Also correct me if i'm wrong, but is the Phantom the fastest jet in NATO? I thought I read it somewhere No. Was that the Dail...

Support aircraft at the Air Tattoo

A thread for aircraft that have turned up but theoretically not on public display over the show days. This can be VIP visitors, transports carrying kit and crew for the display aircraft or even emergency services helicopters stationed far side. If they were put into the static parks they don't count...

Bulgarian, Serbian, Indian Air Force & Navy, Moroccan all ongoing it’s the hope that kills you! 😂 Zambia was also ongoing… and you know what happened:). But with the Turkish F-16’s and F-4’s, also comes some nice support. So that’s also very interesting. Turkey have never sent any support airca...

Some great items on static there with the Sheppard specials, the tiger tanker, Black Widow F-16 and that Eagle - is that still a flyer, its an early frame?

Most of all the Jolly tribute HH-60G in Vietnam colours looks terrific.

Enjoyed looking at those immensely.

It did indeed and he had stamina by the seems. He went straight into an imprompotu mini display at Boscombe on arrival from Russia once the Tupolev had landed.

They were busy in the UK in June 1992 with appearances at Boscombe Down, Biggin Hill and Woodford. Were both jets at Biggn Hill?

Woke up this morning in a good mood and thought it would be great to have a Juno from Shawbury and a Texan from Valley. They normally get announced as the whole package with Tutor, Teacher, Prefect, Texan, Hawk, Avenger, Juno, Jupiter and Silver Surfer all added as one, so fingers crossed for you R...

The likeliest of the ACC demos imo is the F-35. Only one with a gap in the schedule that has permanent based aircraft in Europe. Would be nice to see how the RAF Role Demo with the B variant compares with the F-35A demo of the usaf.
Well lets hope if it does appear they won't try hovering!

Wow, an impressive selection of types and schemes. Must say the Romanian F-16s look really good but those Qatari Rafales are something else.

Wow, there are cerainly a lot of different types on offer there and very well photographed in all the conditions Sean. They've certainly gone to town on the MiG29 paint job, the seaplanes are lovely and the Storch looks dreadful. Good to see a proper Canadian Chippie with the correct canopy as well....

Nice shots, the Vulcan looks well cared for. Looks like its been kept in a box, along with the crew.

Not sure a big belly Lightning should be wearing 56sqn checkerboard tail markings. I believe the flamboyance ended on their F3s.

Yes, but the three air arms above usually bring the most static aircraft.
Appreciating there may be more this year, Canada have brought one last year and two the year before that. Don't think so.

Very pleased with the Jordanian vipers - although not sure why anyone would prefer a grey Hercules over a lovely sandy camo one? Because I am looking every year since my first (R)IAT in 1995 at the same airframes (344, 345, 346, 347) so yes, I would be very happy with a new Jordanian AF Hercules. E...
