Re: RAF Special Schemes

Lovely mock-up Dan, placement of the vertical stripes is spot-on. If they'd put them there it'd have been a perfectly reasonable minimalist scheme, looks a bit odd under the tail though.

It's loud in helicopter-mode but is it that bad in fixed-wing? A quick pop up to allow a spiral descent from fixed-wing to helicopter must give less reaction time than a regular heli approach?

If you see a crew doing something they shouldn't then don't share the footage. Any sh1tstorm that follows from not obeying this rule is entirely the witnesses' fault and in no part the fault of the aircrew. I'm sorry but that's about the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen posted on this forum. Ju...

Well that's how the mock-Italian sounds in my head anyhow. Nothing special, just some taxxiing shots, but nice to catch nonetheless. Bonus of the day was 'FA' flying as ''Jedi 1-1'' http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8285/7748329442_28513fb718_o.jpg Sweet-FA by agdickie , on Flickr The Italians head home...

Hope Sean Maffet doesn't look into this thread, after all "No-one knows why Vulcan makes that noise"... Had a wee laugh at RIAT when he was talking about the engine noise. '558 throttled up a bit faster than his commentary might have liked resulting in a quickly spoken and higher-pitched: ...

Re: RIAT 2012, fast jets in super slow motion!

I like me some slo-mo footage, must admit to being disappointed when the 5D3 didn't have 60fps at 1080p. Do you have any 24/30fps -> 120/240fps transitions? To me that's one of the really fun things you can do with super slo-mo, having regular footage and then slowing it right down mid shot (aircraf...

The 400mm on the cropped sensor would be 680mm giving a further reach for top shots/approaches etc. Um. Taking a lens off a full-frame camera, and putting it on a cropped-sensor camera doesn't give you extra "reach" (magnification), does it? Using a 400mm lens with a cropped sensor just g...
