Re: Heathrow Expansion??

Will it be used for parking all the airliners withdrawn from service across the world? Highly unlikely. Will be a while until the bulldozers start rolling in. It’s predicted to be 2028 for completion. Increased capacity to a 130 million passengers a year which will make it the worlds busiest airport.

Sir Frank Whittle: the test pilot who revolutionised aviation

Interesting article I read online this morning. Thought I'd share it with the good people of UKAR... As we remember aerospace pioneer Chuck Yeager, it’s a timely reminder of the achievements of Sir Frank Whittle, who made jet flight possible. News of the death of Chuck Yeager last week, aged 97, pro...

Re: Bruntingthorpe Closure?

Thankyou for the update. For clarity can you list the aircraft that have actually moved. As I understand it the VC-10, not being owned by David Walton ? was still 'at risk' on the airfield. From the photos I’ve seen JP Canberra Meteor Venom Sea Vixen Hunter x 2 Delphin Iskra Starfighter Lightning x...

Re: Bruntingthorpe Closure?

Some positive news.

Last Saturday most of the aircraft that are being retained were moved onto the new site. The plan is to enable visitor access again sometime next year. I’ve seen some photos and it looks very encouraging.
