Although totally expected, I'm still absolutely gutted

Re: COVID-19: Your Thoughts and it's effects on you.
My wife works for a company in Birmingham City Centre just up the road from Snow Hill station and they've all been told that they'll be working from home until Xmas (and to be honest with the cost of the rent/lease they must be paying for that floor of the building and the fact that apparently staff...

Re: Your holiday plans
Managed to get all of our money back from our cancelled June holiday/cruise in Canada. Our UK break isn't until the start of December but that's at a private rental at Tattershall Lakes and we have no interest in using the club/bar facilities so as long as the park is open and no local lockdowns we'...

Re: 3rd Party LP-E6N Batteries
Hähnel HLX-E6N are better than the original Canon LP-E6N. I can say I wholeheartedly agree, I've got 2 Hahnel batteries which seem to last longer than my Canon ones. Me too, these are very good value. I ordered 2 of the HLX-E6N batteries and must say they are very good I will see how long they last...

Re: RIAT 2020
I wonder if we'll get a joint flypast of Patrouille Suisse and the Hornet? Good lord... you're talking about RIAT airshow content... praise be... and peace be with you!! In previous seasons where the Swiss have supported us with multiple acts, they have tended to take off together and do a flypast ...

Those are another option I have looked at but they seem to get very mixed reviews

Re: 3rd Party LP-E6N Batteries
I have four Canon-branded batteries for my 6D and prefer to buy OEM batteries in the hope that they are very high quality and will last longer than generic brands hence offer better value-for-money. However, I do not have any evidence to support my buying habit. What I can offer, though, is the rec...

Re: 3rd Party LP-E6N Batteries
Also, if they do have them on amazon, check the price a few times a day - the last time I purchased some from them the price got cheaper and cheaper throughout the day, and reset the next day before gradually coming down again. Fuuny you should say that because I've noticed that with other items on...

3rd Party LP-E6N Batteries
Hi folks, My 4 genuine Canon batteries for my 7D Mkii have given up/are giving up the game (2 are dead and 2 only charge to approx 50%). I have a 3 week holiday in Canada booked for June (I dread to think how many photos I’ll end up taking!) so obviously will need replacements. Can anyone recommend ...

Re: RIAT 2019
I'm sure they're not too worried as the 'discount' will be absorbed once they announce the ticket prices and they've gone up again (at guess conveniently by £5) although I agree it will set a precedent for the future should a similar scenario occur.

Re: RIAT 2019 - Issues
Myself and the wife have only been FRIAT members for the past 5 years (although I've attended IAT/RIAT for over 30 years and shes's done every show in the 16 years we've been together) but even we have seen the difference over the last couple of years with peoples attitude to the 'grandstand etiquet...

Re: Reikan FoCal Software
I’ve got the FoCal software and it does work. I think the consumer software is not too dissimilar to the commercial software that companies like Cameracal use to calibrate your lenses (don’t quote me on that!). HOWEVER it can be an absolute nightmare to get everything set up for ‘ideal’ test conditi...

Re: Flying Legends 2019
My main criticism is how tight on space the grandstand was. I would not recommend it unfortunately. We were packed in like sardines. "Tight" must be the understatement of the year. I've only just got the feeling back in my arms and legs!!! Couple that with the fact that due to how shallow...

Shuttleworth Military Show 7/7/19
I thought I'd post a few of mine from my Fickr account (I don't post pics on here very often) It was my first time visiting the Military Show. The appearance of 7 flying Hurricanes plus other highlights was just too much to resist! What an excellent show and the weather played ball too https://live....

Re: FRIAT packages 2019
Thanks WM and JM, really appreciated (this is why we could do with a like function on here). Historically I've normally entered through green, and last year red which explains my sketchy memory of it. As I'm on the campsite near the red entrance and not rushing to find a space on the rope being in ...

The forecast for the weekend changes each time I look at it at the moment. As long as it doesn't rain! mine says periods of cloud and sun, 0% of rain at the moment Yes that seems to be the general forecast across the board at the moment. Wind forecast seems light too so fingers crossed the Edwardia...

Re: Military Airshow 7th July
so as it's my first old warden show I'm looking for advice. someone told me that i wouldn't need my 150-600. would i get away with my 70-300? I use a 70-300. It's enough for the runway and most passes, but the extra reach will open up more options for you. i'll just stick with the 150-600 then. if ...

Re: Flares at RIAT.
I think it’s more to do with an ‘armed’ aircraft being parked in close proximity to others as to the reason they can’t be used (I know there was an explanation on the RIAT website)
