Can someone please remind me of the dead line for paying 2024 renewel.
End of February :thumbsup_tone2:

(From one of the FRIAT emails) "Please ensure payment is made by 29th February 2024. If payment has not been received by this date your tickets/seats will be released for re-sale."

Re: FRIAT 2024

Has everyone been sent their payment renewal details yet? I received the e-mail saying "everyone should have received" and if you haven't send an e-mail to Wendy. I hadn't, so I have, and I still haven't received any reply nearly a fortnight later. Talk about making an absolute arse of a ...

Does Sally B still do walk through tours on airshow days?
Only for Sally B members I believe.
I know they used to do a 'member for a day' so that you could pay and have the walk through tour but I don't know if they still offer that (I just joined the supporters club instead)

Re: FRIAT 2024

Hi all, I have attended the last 2 RIATs, 2022 and 2023 as part of a group and we were paid up and seated on FRIAT Grand stand. All correspondence and ticket purchase was done by group leader. I will now be travelling alone and therefore need to book by myself. I do not have access to the email tha...

I love watching the grebes hunting whilst I'm fishing. Not very often they come up with an empty beak. Certainly better at it than me

Re: RIAT 2024 - discuss most things thread

The other issue is how would they know when all the FRIAT and advance ticket holders were in? And as I queried before are you not allowed to move between ends during the day? So how do they take that into account? They scan tickets and passes to get in, and that software is presumably intelligent e...

The delay due to Brize traffic was on the Saturday, Sunday was the full display if I remember correctly.
I knew it was one of the days. TBH doing the 6 days this year really tired me out and the Saturday & Sunday main show days are just a blur.

Re: RIAT 2023 Discuss everything thread

I might be wrong, but didn't Ben Dunnell say over the weekend that the RAF Typhoon display was cut short? it did certainly feel shorter compared to what i saw at Cosford I know the one day (I think it was on the Sunday) it had to hold on the runway due to traffic into going into Brize, so it probab...

Re: How do you store your gear?

My kit lives in it's camera bag (Lowerpro Flipside 500 AWII) in the office where my computer is even when not in use. I think as long as you make sure ALL of your equipment is dry before putting it all away there shouldn't be any issues. After the show days at RIAT I got back to the Airbnb and took ...

Baffled coming into Red today at around 11ish, lots of coaches with school kids etc, and they were all in the queue to get their bags checked. Some couldn't have been more than 8/9 years old, yet their bags were getting checked. I mean, come on! I understand the security aspect but this seemed a li...

Just a concern I have concerning the scanners used at the security check. Do these scanners have an effect on digital camera's, memory cards, batteries? I asked via the website ‘chat box’ the other day if FRIAT members needed parking passes and they said no as they have already been accounted for. They must have allocated a parking slot for all FRIAT members so I’m guessing (I don’t know for definite) it’ll be a case of show your FRIAT pass as you ...

I went and there was only one Puffin.

I had much better luck on the Farne Islands.
A friend of mine makes the trip up there every 2 years and he does always seem to be rather successful

FRIAT update with regard to entrance etc has arrived in the email inbox today. I do hope that the listed closure time of 1730 for P&V is a mistake as I have captured some of my highlights long after this time in previous years! Very true! IIRC the Romanian Mig 21's didn't arrive until after 6pm...

I've just looked on the FRIAT page at the grandstand and in the 'block' between the aisles where I'll be there's 26 seats in each of the rows (B-L) and there's only 5 seats one side and the 4 seats at the other end taken leaving 17 seats free in the middle!

To be fair that’s the forecast for Swindon.
I know it’s reasonably close to the airfield but how many times in years gone by have we seen dodgy looking weather pass behind the airfield (over Swindon) yet miss the airfield completely.

Something I've not seen discussed, for years we were always told RIAT don't request aircraft, they invite a nation and said nation either sends something or it doesn't and we get whatever they chose to send. I've seen Peter say on multiple occasions that they have requested a certain airframe, is t...
