Re: Four days in and around RIAT 2023

Thanks all. Steve, yes I turned up and bought a ticket on the gate on the Monday. I'd say maybe a third of the people I saw in the (very long) queue to go in did the same, so there were plenty available. I left the campsite just before 6 am. Thankfully I drove straight out without getting stuck as a...

Four days in and around RIAT 2023

Well, this year's RIAT was a pretty wild affair, with the weather making for some 'interesting' experiences! Nevertheless, I had a great time and I thought the organisers did a fantastic job in some rather testing circumstances at times. I had a ticket for the Friday and with the forecast rain I was...

What a fantastic set!
Great to see some really creative compositions that capture the atmosphere of the event, rather than simply more photos of aircraft.

Looks like the Mangusta won the best overall flying display by an overseas participant. Front seater was proudly waving it as they taxied past us at west!

Re: RIAT 2023 Discuss everything thread

Yep, I think you're likely right there Tom. I'm in the club too, having bought my show ticket at the super super early bird price before pnv went on sale, then the next time I looked Monday was sold out! I have a vague recollection of separate queues as you suggest at pnv east on Monday last year. (...

The Victory Show 2022

Another great show at Cosby. Good to see it on the calendar again after last year was supposed to be the last event. Hopefully it'll be back on again next year! I was there on the Saturday and as usual the big battle was an awesome spectacle, although the absolutely massive explosion that set fire t...

Yep, I remember in particular watching those jags taxiing out from the dunes by the fire Hawk. Can't believe that was 20 years ago, and I was pretty happy with my 6x4 prints too!

Hehe, the rickety rackety bridge, that takes me back! Not sure what it's like down that end these days, though I suspect that the perimeter gate won't be swinging in the breeze like it used to be!

Thank for the comments everyone.
Totterdown can be awkward at times for photography and there are always some, erm, 'interesting' characters around, but when it's good, it's really good!

Cosford Evening Shoot

Due to the time of year this was more of an evening shoot than normal, with a somewhat rushed nightshoot for half an hour at the end. However, we were very lucky with the evening light which was sublime before sunset. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/52032105978_550fdc28fe_o.jpg Tornado GR4 ZD793...

Thanks chaps. Pat, the sprainting otter was near Croggan and the others were on the north shore of Loch Scridain. All were taken out of the car window.
