Re: Russian An-24 over UK today

Just searched it on Flightradar and it says it went into Stansted that day, did it show Heathrow elsewhere?

Re: Russian An-24 over UK today

Skyliner...ADSB has a habit at times of showing spurious plots...an example is a few weeks ago when a Nigeria based DHL 737 was shown as approaching the UK from the Channel and also over Northern France at certain times spread over a few days when it was actually flying in Africa ! Another example ...

No-one else has reported RA-46395 over the UK at any point, are you sure you're not seeing things?
Well... I've just searched the reg on ADS-B again and now shows it circling around Stockholm, like it was over the UK, so no it was certainly there. (Whether the radar is wrong, is another matter).

Re: Russian An-24 over UK today

The mystery remains then! Good to see An-24 / An-26s still flying around in the UK anyway.

Re: Russian An-24 over UK today

Ah! Well it disappeared off the radar while circling, so maybe that's when it descended into Stansted.

Russian An-24 over UK today

Hey!

While looking at the adsbexchange radar earlier this afternoon, I noticed Antonov An-24 RA-46395 circling around near Lincoln for a while - any ideas why? Cheers!

Re: Southport 2019

Went Airside to Blackpool Airport on Sunday - very enjoyable day. Got to sit in most of the aircraft, will post pictures later. Regarding the Swedes - spoke to the team yesterday, what a nice bunch. Sat in the Viggen, Tunnan and there support Citation as well as getting a free cap, patch and sticke...

J37 Viggen (distant?? Not from the crowd line it wasn't and as for high, that's just the altitude it needs and the sky was clear, what's not to like?? ) I was on the crowd line but still found it distant, great to see anyway, but just hoped for a few closer passes which I suppose you'd get on an ai...

Re: Southport 2019

I did enjoy today, it was great seeing some different acts to previous years. Just a few points: - I understand why they kept all the jet action to the final hour, but I do feel spacing them out throughout the day would have made the displays flow a little better... - Not sure if it's the case at mo...

Re: RIAT 2019

Is that the first time in many years there hasn't been a B-1B Lancer anywhere near RIAT? Now I wasn't there but I haven't heard anything about any B-1B Lancer attending. Think they've been grounded until recently haven't they? Just wondering, what is the status of the poorly USAF F-16? Has it left?

Re: RIAT 2019

Very jealous of all who can attend RIAT this year! Any airshow with MiG-21s, Su-27s, Harriers, Phantoms, Il-76 and so on is a really good line-up in my eyes! I can understand the frustrations regarding Sunday though. Hope everyone enjoys.

A few years ago I posted here that Asas de Portugal were reforming and coming to RIAT... got people's hopes up a little too much and caused some hot headedness.

Seahawks visit Manchester

Two US Navy Seahawks visited Manchester Airport last weekend, here's one of them ready to depart. (Not a clue where they came from or where they went next, sorry!)

Re: Best Airshow That You Have Attended?

I was born in '92 so can't remember some of the airshows I've been to (RIATs and Woodford shows), but RIAT 2006 will always stand out in my mind for the perfect weather, everyone stopping what they were doing to look up at the MiG-29OVT flipping over in the sky, and the other highlights such as the ...

Will the classic jets ever return?

Hi all, after seeing a video of our former Gloster Meteor resident now flying in America, it made me wonder where the other classic jets are now which usued to be UK airshow regulars? Have the venoms left the UK? It would be nice to think that one day we may get a few jets back on the circuit (along...

Is there no plan to bring the Hawker Sea Hawk back to flying condition again or is it not known?
