I guess there aren't many shows now where you can see both the US and Russian military display!
Lovely set of photos.

Greece display their Apaches, but only at their own airshows as far as I know.

Re: New Medium Helicopter - Discuss
Have to be honest, never really heard of it, so looked it up, stupid name aside, top speed 199mph, fast, but the prototype broke up at 228mph killing both crew, doesn't sound clever. Hasn't stopped the V-22 Osprey!.... there again.... I see there'll be a fleet of them flying around the North Sea th...

Re: RIAT 2024 - discuss most things thread
Well there is a piston engined military schemed Tracker flying at an airshow this weekend. One of many stars that will be flying! Such as a Neptune, Caribou and Consellation. .... Utterly pointless having 'stars' on static at an airshow I always think! So if there's an option for a 'star' to either...

Re: 'The face of things to come'
As sad as the Sk60 demo ending is, it wasn't exactly a regular on these shores - could it have been after last year? We'll never know!

Re: 'The face of things to come'
Generally speaking, because they're in much smaller numbers than previous fleets which is likely to result in an unwillingness to take airframes away from the fleets for display purposes (not to mention add on airframe hours and stress) Still completely possible though, glass half full and all that..

Re: 'The face of things to come'
It’s not just the F-35 effect, air arms in general are winding down their airshow commitments. It wasn’t so long ago in the U.K. we had solo Hawk, RAF Sea King, Team Merlin, Attack Helicopter Demo, Tucano, RN Merlin demo, Harrier, Tornado F3, Tornado GR, Nimrod, Hercules, Sea Harrier. All gone, and...

Re: Sneaky Egyptian (?) prop aircraft ident please?
Dave has emailed over the photos for me to look at.
The first one is Embraer's Super Tucano (PT-ZTU) Not sure where it came from but Flightradar says it then flew to Malta, and then to Rabat.
The second plane is a Spanish Air Force Falcon 900.

Re: 'The face of things to come'
I try and think positively about the future. I reckon there'll always be at least one F-16 each year for a good while yet, even when F-35s arrive in force, from either: Greece Poland Turkey USA or even a nation that rarely sends a flying display such as Romania or Slovakia. There'll still be Typhoon...

Re: RIAT 2024 - discuss most things thread
I really wouldn't worry JMC. I mean the Saudi Air Force had a huge attendance on the ground last year and I only saw positivity. I think Israel is a bit less controversial as a nation? Is that sarcasm? There was the issue with the potential Argentine B737 which then cancelled, I am also ...

So does it need to be such a large airframe to do it's job or could we see one of the larger biz jets taking on the role?jasonT1981 wrote: ↑Tue 05 Dec 2023, 2:20 amBoeing has been eliminated from the process for a sucessor to the E4-B
