Re: Fairford 13-01-18

Very nice shots - particularly the first one and thanks for sharing. I too was curious about the location you used as I've not been to Fairford other than for RIAT and so thanks for the information. One day I may make it down for a bomber deployment. One thing struck me however which somebody might ...

Re: Multiple choppers this morning - Dorking

A Chinook and two Apaches were heading east along the M25 just south of Tatsfield on the North Downs a little while ago. In the lead was what looked like an army cooperation type with D-day stripes on the fuselage (a Stinson?). The Chinook and Apaches then circled Tatsfield a couple of times and the...

Re: Disbandment 348 MTA Hellenic Air Force

My friends, please find below a message from 348 MTA. Dear friends, in order to avoid any misunderstanding we would like to inform you of the following: The list with 535 spotters is final and there will not be any further increase of the number of participants! The first 535 who sent the applicati...

Re: Disbandment 348 MTA Hellenic Air Force

I'm rather hoping that my email (and everybody else's) will be forwarded to the military attache by whoever is responsible for dealing with the embassy's general email address.

Re: Disbandment 348 MTA Hellenic Air Force

Anyone know what we are supposed to do with the latest email regarding the embassy in Athens? I have emailed the embassy using the general address on the gov.uk website explaining why I was emailing and attached a copy of my passport and provisional place allocation. I have no idea whether our emba...

Re: Apaches and Tigers

The two Apaches had Longbow radars for sure. It's not impossible that the other two were Apaches but as one of them slightly banked round it looked like it had a cockpit similar to the Tiger's.

If anybody can positively identify them then I'll happily stand corrected.

The government has never been a shareholder in HSBC. When HSBC needed money during the financial crisis it raised it from shareholders and other investors. Same with Barclays. They are , however , a shareholder in RBS & LLoyds TSB/HBOS ( from which Gideon is flogging-off a large percentage of s...

Spot the Conservatives... In times of Austerity this is a ridiculous idea, how much did his buddy manage to waste of public money with his sales of the HSBC shares, oh only £1BN... sorry but there goes his "Cam Force One". Shove him on BA, Virgin or better still Ryan Air. The government h...

You might also try the Gatwick Aviation Museum at Charlwood near Gatwick. The late owner, Peter Vallance, had a long running battle with the local council over his collection and its alleged breach of planning laws. I think he won the battle in the end. I believe that following his death the collect...
