Re: Microsoft Flight Simulator Returns
Absolutely, but when I see people expecting GTA V level of detail on ground level they're setting themselves up for a big disappointment

Re: Microsoft Flight Simulator Returns
You don't have to use the online mode though if you have a slow connection or a data usage limit. The photogrammetry scenery is overrated anyway. You in the alpha too? I haven't been blown away but it's still obviously at an early stage and seems to be improving with every patch Yup, and I agree, t...

Yes, you can do 500 mile flights on the Persian Gulf map if you want - don't know why you'd want massive maps though - I dont really see the point in doing a one to one simulation of the part of the mission where nothing happens.

Re: Eurofighter Coming to DCS
Quite a pedigree! Indeed! And if it had been anyone other than people with first hand knowledge of the aircraft I think I would have just blown it off as another "VEAO"-type module. I think the external model looks a bit rough, but I'll chalk that up to it being WIP. I'm certainly going t...

Like I said in the "airshow"-thread, Norway is in a state of lock down, so both me and my wife will be working from home for (at least) the next couple of weeks. It really bugs me that a lot of people don't seem to be taking this seriously though, even though we get new horror stories from...

Re: Will air shows be cancelled because of coronavirus
Things are looking pretty grim at the moment here in Norway. As of six o'clock this evening Norway is in full lock down - this means that all kindergartens, schools, universities and colleges are closed. All public events are cancelled, restaurants, pubs, bars and clubs are closed. Gyms, hair dresse...

Great thread! Back in 1997 Norway played host to a large "partnership for peace" exercise called Co-Operative Banners. I was 12 at the time, and living with my parents right next to one of the RNoAF's main bases - which at the time was home to a squadron of F-16s and a squadron of F-5s. Wh...

Re: Your favourite image from 2019
2019 was a great year, while I didn't get around to do a whole lot of shows the shows and photoshoots that I did get to do were great. My favorite shot from last year is probably this one though, the two D-Day F-16s and the Dark Falcon in formation somewhere above Belgium. http://fredrikedvardsen.ne...

That's at least a little encouragement that this isn't necessarily the end for seeing Mirage 2000s fly at airshows, although if I was a betting man, I wouldn't stake much on seeing them again. Ramex/Couteau aside, the Mirage 2000 is a very seldom seen type even as a static in the UK. I can't recall...

Thanks again, chaps! Who do you have to bribe to get on the platform visible in the picture with the Su-34 on the runway? Your Wife/bank (delete as applicable).... Without media accreditation it costs around £150, I think it is about half that if you have accreditation. If you want well lit takeoff...

Absolutely amazing shots of amazing aircraft in amazing light, what's not to like? Well, amidst howls of 'jealous knob', I'm struggling to see how / why these aircraft are willing to take the time/effort/ fuel to loiter behind the Skyvan? Are the Crews promised some exotic shots? (they are certainl...

Yes, Microsoft invited a bunch of "content creators" to Seattle to try it, and this really looks to be revolutionary.

Thank you for all the kind words, guys!
The only negative thing about doing something like this is that shooting planes from the grounds is never going to be the same

The Dark Falcon returns
Back in May I was fortunate enough to be invited to Belgium for an air to air shoot with the Dark Falcon and the two D-Day F-16s, and what a fantastic experience it was! Nice set! What's the pod carried on the forward left cheek station? I'm guessing some kind of Israeli targeting pod.

I'm sure it varies, but from what I've seen earlier it was around £1500-2000 GBP.
