All depends on how they marketed the event. If they promised the photographers a 'first look' at this P-51, it would be odd to have it parked out on the airfield all day for others to photograph it first. If you had paid for that privileged 'first look', you would no doubt be a bit peeved to see var...

They are actually the same blisters and were present on the aircraft long before 1976 (a photo in 'Spitfire In Blue' by Hugh Smallwood shows them fitted in 1960/61).
