Re: Duxford Showcase Days 2020

I have exactly the same issue. On top of that I found that the latest "update" for Microsoft Edge prevented me logging in to this site!. Cured that issue by using System Restore (which used to be so much easier to find than it is now) but still same issue with these tickets (one for me and one for a...

Re: Hotel at IWM Duxford?

The flying will be even more distant, no more topside passes round the M11 end and airspace. Looking at the layout of the airfield there seems to be no reason why the new hotel should have any effect on such passes. The aircraft will be no closer to it than they currently are to Arco or to Airspace.

Even the first few lines of the constitution of the United States are clearly rubbish... "All men are created equal"...Only applies to wealthy white Anglo-Saxon Protestants. "A well regulated militia being essential".....is it really? How many gun-toting Americans are members of any "militia"? There...

:confounded: Why are regular business travellers exempted from the 14 day quarantine? do they meet a better class of person (ie Covid free) on their travels? No of course they don't. They are, however, more likely to donate to the Tory Party or to offer lucrative directorships to ex-ministers.... M...

Re: F1 ( and other motorsports ) 2020

People keep going on about how the old cars were so much better when in fact if a 1980s/90s car started a modern race in pole position it would be lapped by the entire field within about a dozen laps. Noise doesn't make a car faster, good engineering and set-up does.

Two for me.

The Su-27/Tu134 arrival at Boscombe especially considering that by then most had given up hope of the Sukhoi actually arriving.

The double roll by the B-1 at Fairford (can't remember which year that was) even though by the time it rolled it was some distance away.

It may be worth considering that being an able administrator does not automatically equate with being an accomplished public speaker. This should not be construed to suggest that I am a supporter of Michael Gove; far from it, I think he has made a mess of almost every post he has held in government ...

Re: COVID-19: Your Thoughts and it's effects on you.

One thing which I have not seen said but should be pointed out is that in the absence of a vaccine, sooner or later, everyone will catch Covid19. Given the demographic of England alone and assuming a 30% fatality rate amongst the over 70s (which includes myself) which is probably an optimistic estim...

My mistake, I missed said ironic tone

Perhaps worth mentioning that many "gadgets" are now made in places such as Indonesia or Malaysia. Question is, how much "better" are these places than the "People's Republic"?
