Image stabilisation help
Been going to airshows for years but only been taking photos the last couple. I have been using the canon 75-300 but it broke and I can only afford a used cheap 300mm lens but thinking of getting a 200mm sigma oc hsm lens for same price hoping the image stabilisation will help with my camera shake m...

Re: Southport 2023
Shocking experience today at Southport by far the worse airshow I ever attended. Must admit I was on the beach at the crowd line so my knowledge of what was happening was non existent as they put no speakers at all on the beach coupled with no phone signal. So when no reds that was a surprise. Can s...

Re: Bournemouth Air Festival 2023
I think considering switching to a Southport style show could be worth considering. I know going from free to something like 10 pounds is no doubt going to upset lots of people but has to be better than no show at all. I feel people will understand that since the Shoreham incident insurance that has...

Is this lens worth buying moisture issue
Looking at a lens on mpb says in good condition but also states The internal optics have moisture, but image quality is unaffected. Is this going to get worse or should it be ok to buy as it's very reasonable price

Re: Blackpool Airshow 2023
Blackpool have released not only the full flying display but the times as well. I would say a month out that is amazing organization and the opposite to what we have seen from other "bigger" shows this year.

Re: RIAT 2023 Discuss everything thread
I think this is yet another amazing RIAT and there are some real stars for sure. The only thing personally missing for me is the F22 I just really love the raptor yes I have seen it before but I just feel it gives an amazing display and would have loved to see it again this year. I love the USAF dis...

Re: Cosford Airshow 2023 (discuss everything)
I think the whole cosford on sea thing is a bit harsh looking at the line up we have the Patrouille Suisse not really something you will see at a seaside show. Also looking at the other nations attending Belgium, France, Netherlands possibly as well we could have had a return of the French Rafale an...

Re: Cosford Airshow 2023 (discuss everything)
While I know it's 2 weeks away and the bbc has trouble forecasting next days weather, we are showing 12 days of nice sunny weather and then rain on the 11th. Typical. Way to early to tell yesterday same website had 11th as sunny all day no cloud's. I think will probably change 50 times again before...

Re: Cosford Airshow 2023 (discuss everything)
Is that actually an official Instagram though I wonder. They seem to have announced things that the other main accounts on social media haven't. Anyway, given Cosford is the only RAF show, I really hope we get the newly announced BBMF/Typhoon formation. Given that they've confirmed they will have t...

I do feel some further additions will now be needed looks very likely Catalina and Sally B will be cancelled so need to be replaced or we may only be left with 2 hour show.

What shows will be left in 5 years
Was talking today with some friends about how many shows have disappeared from the display calender in the last few years and when you stop and think about it in the last decade we have lost most of our bigger shows. Waddington arguably the uk number 2 airshow gone, yeovilton another big hitter gone...

Re: Cosford Airshow 2023 (discuss everything)
I think most of the paying punters included the non-avgeeks like lots of noise. So, yes include the RJFs, Tutors, etc when folks can grab a bite of lunch but at the end of the day I reckon if they put on 2 or more of an F16, F18, Gripen or Rafale over and above a Typhoon this year then most on this...

Re: Cosford Airshow 2023 (discuss everything)
I really hope there's another fast jet added... F-16 or Gripen would be a lovely addition. Would be amazing, however with most calenders and schedules already published would sadley say unlikely. I think the closest to another fast jet display will be the F35 displaying similar to last year but may...

Maybe it's just me but after covid times I am just happy to have airshows back at all. Yes it's a bit thin but with everything going on in the world I think we are lucky to have what we have this season. I think the insurance issue for sure needs to look into as it would have been easy to get the ga...

Re: Cosford Airshow 2023 (discuss everything)
I'm looking forward to seeing them on a smaller airfield. They put on a great display, but sometimes Fairfords display area seems too big for 4x Extra 300s, so looking forward to seeing them in a smaller display area at Cosford. I agree cosford is the perfect show for them, and as a bonus will be a...
