Every cloud and all that - who knows there might be a market for Covid Testing Centre themed weddings when all this over.

Re: COVID-19: Your Thoughts and it's effects on you.

A spokesman for the school, whose principal Rabbi Avrahom Pinter died in April after contracting coronavirus, said "we had no knowledge that the wedding was taking place". He added: "We are absolutely horrified about last night's event and condemn it in the strongest possible terms." While officers...

Government now toying with the idea of giving everyone in England who tests positive for Covid 19 £500 to adhere to self isolation. https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.bbc.co.uk/news/amp/uk-55760467 Take £500 , do what you like, pay your £200 fine out of it ( if you ever get caught ) and still be £3...

Re: Is anybody happy with the Brexit white paper?

I know people who work in the financial sector who voted leave, I also know people in the financial sector who voted remain. I know thick people who voted both ways. I know poor people who voted both ways. I know rich people who voted both ways. I know people that voted leave in 2016 who have since ...

If they haven’t bothered to read up on the rules and are moaning on their way in that their ham sandwiches are being confiscated - just wait until their return journey with the extra fags and booze they can’t bring home any more. Presumably duty free is back on the boats though? Duty free is back b...

Re: COVID-19: Your Thoughts and it's effects on you.

if suggested figures that up to 1 in 5 in the UK have had the virus are true that can only be good? it means that those who have died or required hospitalisation is a much lower percentage than previously thought. The down side is that number will eventually increase by 400% if we don't get everyon...

From BBC website - “and rationing is implemented at the UK's biggest grocer, Tesco, in a bid to maintain supplies” Both the BBC and the government could have handled this so much better. I’m one of the essential workers that people are happy to carry on working so that their particular type of lockdown means they can feel safe. Essential and expendable at the same time. Re: COVID-19: Your Thoughts and it's effects on you.

I know there are absolutely no alternatives to lockdown and this is a stupid suggestion for even thinking about it, but ......, During WW2 at least 40,000 civilians were killed in The Blitz. Not one person was killed by poisonous gas, but the possibility lead to the British government supplying 38 m...

Re: COVID-19: Your Thoughts and it's effects on you.

That’s the whole point. The alternatives are percentages of lockdown. You don’t agree with zero or 100% but you have decided that the percentage that you believe is correct is the only alternative. I don’t have an alternative , but according to you there isn’t one anyway. It’s like wearing masks. Th...

So you agree there ARE alternatives ? My argument was that people aren’t discussing options, because to discuss options you first need to agree there are alternatives ( you said there are none except your preferred Lockdown - which doesn’t lockdown everyone ). You can’t discuss options and merits o...

Re: COVID-19: Your Thoughts and it's effects on you.

I'm not sure which lockdown we had that involved all those "essential" services being stopped. If there was one, I don't remember it, and it's not the one I'm suggesting should have been longer. There you go. The only viable lockdown is your preferred lockdown where everyone is locked down except f...

You can’t pick and choose what you want. Blame capitalism if you like but modern society doesn’t work like you want. Of course there are alternatives. Lots of them from doing nothing to every single person in the U.K. stopping in and meeting no one ? Your preferred lockdown is what ? there isn't one, the attempt to find one is why we are in the mess we are. It's a virus. The only way to stop transmission is to stop people moving around and coming into contact with each other. Might as well sit outside BAE Systems and complain they haven't even considered the option of not havin...

Re: COVID-19: Your Thoughts and it's effects on you.

Therein lies the problem. Anyone opposed to lockdowns as a strategy is immediately a denier. There is no option that acknowledges there is a virus and proposes an approach to dealing with it which doesn’t involve a lockdown and shutting borders. I’m not saying there is an option just that any mentio...

From the Government website. From 23 December to 27 December, you may choose to form a Christmas bubble. A Christmas bubble will be able to spend time together in private homes, including second homes and caravans, to attend places of worship, or meet in a public outdoor place. If you do form a Chri...

I’ve just had my common or garden flu vaccine.

If they wanted to stick anything else into me at the same time it would have come under much less scrutiny that the Covid vaccine will do !
