Not very stealthy marketing.

Re: Sully question

I've just watched Sully for the first time. About 80% of passengers left the plane without life jackets. Was that true. I've heard that message so many times "In the unfortunate event that the plane comes down on water" I'm sure I would grab my lifejacket. If the film’s transcript follows the cockp...

Re: COVID-19: Your Thoughts and it's effects on you.

Pubs , shops and restaurant toilets are disgusting. Only half the cubicles and urinals open and those that are, are filthy.

It seems the new normal is not to clean the toilets regularly.

There will be a dysentery epidemic soon.

Re: President Trump

I look at that photo of Mt Rushmore against the wider landscape and it strikes me what a crass act of vandalism that is. Its just absurd. This....Only in the USA could they get away with a piece of vandalism like Rushmore When I visited The Alamo I was amazed to see how little was preserved and how...

Re: Tramway Village at Crich

Nice to see the English Electric “Boat” in Blackpool livery. My friend drove Fred Dibnah up and down Blackpool Prom for a couple of hours filming for TV in the 1980s in one of those. He was convinced he was going to be a TV star. They used a 15 second clip of his hand moving the power lever. He was ...

Re: Guy Gibson's Dog Headstone replaced

A few years ago in school, before the days of computers and interactive boards and boards you could use felt pens on, we were told to use the phrase chalk board rather than blackboard. Anyway, BC - how goes the brewing and wine making? Hopefully you thought , “that’s ridiculous, who on Earth is goi...

Re: Squires Gate Aviation Museum

I've just been having a clearout - and came across these photos I took at Squires Gate, Blackpool in the 1970's. Not the best photos prints I have ever taken - but they show Avro Lancaster NX611 and Spitfire FR.47 at the Reflectaire(?) museum. Must have been taken around 1970/1 as the Seafire FR.47...

Re: Squires Gate Aviation Museum

I remember the Lancaster being there but I think it must have been after the Spitfire and vehicles had gone, as I don’t remember them. Thanks for posting. Very interesting. My memory also has that Lancaster facing Squires Gate Lane so might have been moved by then - or I’m confused ! Edit - the seco...

Re: Boris Force One?

Cant stand it and I believe the flag is the wrong way up from what I have read. It’s correct when viewed from aircraft left, but wrong when viewed from aircraft right. Look at both sides of the tail on the most famous presidential aircraft Airforce One. You’ve seen it a million times. Look at the f...

A white American police officer , who had 18 complaints on his career, killed a black American who has armed robbery amongst his convictions. Both worked as doormen at a club at the same time, but apparently didn’t know each other. Despite working overlapping shifts at the same time. Now the doormen...

Re: COVID-19: Your Thoughts and it's effects on you.

Or is the reasoning that those stores that opened last week would prefer the current restrictions, as they’ve had some signs made that would be wrong if things changed, rather than potentially having more people in their stores ? EDIT - it’s my experience of retail that they will spend £ thousands ,...

Re: COVID-19: Your Thoughts and it's effects on you.

I think everyone in retail and hospitality has bigger problems than worrying that their signs that currently say “keep 2m apart” should now say “keep 1m apart”. I would have thought they would be happier they can now fit twice as many people into their sales space , rather than a few signs are a bit...

And all just a week after re-opening the shops, that all had to have clear signage on the 2m separation etc. How much have they just made companies waste on preparing all that stuff for 7 days worth of use? If they’ve put markers every 2m and it goes to 1m don’t they just need to add lines between ...

What's with the UNITED KINGDOM lettering or is that just artistic licence? apart from Air Force One I don't think any official VIP planes in the world have other than that country's airforce as identification.
Really ? I thought most did, including that French one on the previous page and above !

If you like sweet white wine, then Willow and Stone is lovely when nice and cold when it’s nice and sunny and you’re sat in the garden ( while working from home ).

( more expensive in Scotland due to minimum pricing ! )

Paul McCartney should be apologising. . Penny Lane - named after a street named after someone who objected to, and tried to delay, the abolition of slavery. Also for “Hey Jude” ( as if he didn’t know after all that time in Hamburg the German word for Jew ). And for trying to ruin Stevie Wonder and M...

3rd RAF Poseidon’s named after WW2 ace.

From U.K. defence journal. Poseidon MRA1 tail number ZP803 is currently being completed in the USA and sports the name ‘Terence Bulloch DSO* DFC* RAF’ in recognition of the pilot who made the greatest number of attacks against submarines in the Battle of the Atlantic. https://ukdefencejournal.org.uk...
