Re: Exercise Yorknite, RAF Leeming, 23.11.21

Hi, can anyone tell me how long the Swiss will be staying at RAF Leeming e.g. will they be staying through the early part of next week, and does anyone have an idea of their flying schedule, please? Thanks in advance.

Does anyone have any information please on the departure of the aforementioned aircraft? Is their departure imminent or have I missed the boat and they have left already? Thanks in advance.

No exactly true, I believe they put up a Typh... sorry Eurofighter display at NATO Days a few years ago and again at Radom last year? However, I think they may have been 'one-offs' rather than a move to display it more regularly.

Hi, yes, stayed there the last couple of years. Did you write your message in French? It is easier if you do. They have a few employees but only one is very good at English the others are ok-ish. I remember waiting the first time I applied. Bon chances!

A country conspicuously absent there I must say, even considering it's just rumours Who do you mean, the French, the Belgians, Swedes, Norwegians? Oh you mean the UK? Radom only started looking at having a show, possibly only a small one, at the beginning of the year and did not sign it off as happ...

Re: French Air Force Open Days 2017

For those of us lucky enough to be going to Saint Dizier their website has been updated over the past 24 hours or so. Confirmed now include RDAF F-16, Super Puma, Saab 105, MASA 2000 plus one or two smaller items. They are also posting the individual display times for each item. Let's just hope the ...

Re: tickets for Scampton airshow

If we are going to do a direct comparison, Sanicole charges you for the loos!! the most cynical thing I think I have seen at an airshow. Hi Pb - When I first went to Sanicole I too was surprised by the 'loo charge' and had similar thoughts to yours. And I don't think Sanicole are alone in this aspe...

Re: tickets for Scampton airshow

The event exists to make money for charity. It would be remiss of the RAFCTE not to maximise that. They know what their market will stand. Of course, they're obliged to provide a show in return, but don't forget your entry fee is a charity donation. The free shows on the continent or in the US do n...

Re: tickets for Scampton airshow

Is anyone honestly surprised at the ticket price? Call me cynical if you like but the moment DBH/RAFCTE/RIAT got involved there was only going to be one outcome. "Build the show" my a***, once again all they want to do is fleece as much out of the public as soon as possible! As someone poi...

It was announced over the PA that they were talking to the Vulcan people about getting a slot in tomorrow's display line-up. This appeared to be confirmed by Sean Maffett over the PA a short time later, after most people had returned to their cars. I think he gave a potential slot time of ~4.00pm. J...

Apologies, just realised there's a typ-o in my previous post!

According to the BBMF website the 'Flight' will be routing direct to Eastbourne from CBY. I still think they will pass east of London but you never know?!?

Any advance information would be much appreciated please.

Cheers,

Saw them (assuming it was the same pair) about 30 minutes ago heading north from Sunbury over Heathrow. Don't see many Merlins using this route these days and it's certainly unusual to see two together. Lovely against the crisp blue winter sky!

For the record the passenger was a gentleman by the name of John Busby. I read the report today and saw the name, my next thought was, "I know a John Busby". An ex-colleague about that sort of age. I then thought no more about it, must be hundreds of John Busbys. Then I received an email f...
