Re: Flying Legends to cease at Duxford

It’s also going to be a huge hit financially for the local community as well!

Re: Duxford Showcase Days 2020

Had displays from a Mustang, Dragon Rapide and Harvard. Yak 50 and Cosmic Wind taxied up and down, but couldn't fly due to a big shower passing through. Rest of the day's flying is cancelled. Catalina sounded a bit miffed when he heard rest of day had been scrubbed. Words to the effect off ‘oh, Cat...

Same here. Already got the ticket. If it rains, I’ll just have a look round the hangers. Fingers crossed ‘Powters’ are there again 😋

Re: Duxford Showcase Days 2020

Excuse ignorance but I was thinking about getting tix for this but the entry time issue is confusing me. There is no info about this on the website. Can you not buy tickets and rock up at any time or even just for the afternoon? The tickets have time slots to pick an entry time, on the hour and the...

Re: Boris Force One?

The aircraft is in for its scheduled maintenance overhaul which will require a complete strip and repaint, the cost is a total of £900,000 all in, it has already been budgeted for and is inline with planned works. All the BS about just the paint being £900,000 is just the press making the weak of m...

i haven't decided whether to go or not yet. not gonna lie the Friday holds no appeal to me if it's just a couple of groups singing old war songs
If it’ll be anything like their previous ‘Flying Proms’ events they use to hold several years ago, it should be quite good.

Morning Gents. Has anyone got any experience of the Park and Ride, to get to the show. Is it really an alternative if you don't mind taking all your stuff around with you. I'd be coming from the A11/A14 direction, so was wondering which would be the best, Trumpington or the newly released Babraham....

Might as well close DX now. I do wonder sometimes the mentality of these planning idiots.

Bit like when they put a planning application for motorway services just across the road!

Re: Duxford Battle of Britain Airshow 2019

Some awesome journalism in the Royston Crow: "The show will include displays from an array of original Second World War aircraft, including P-51 Mustangs and P-47 Thunderbolts, and will culminate in a mass flypast of 19 Spitfires, including a Mk XVIII Spitfire. Four Buchon fighter jets with Lu...
