Re: Jet suit paramedic tested in the Lake District

Does this mean we'll be getting the jetpacks we were promised on Tomorrow's World, in the 60's. :grinning:

Hopefully not to long before we'll be going to cities on the moon. :alien:

I have absolutely no sympathy for students. This is about you leaving home and learning to look after yourself, and here is a major life lesson for you all. Life isn't one big party, it has the habit of turning on you and sticking the boot in. Learn to live with it, it makes the good times all the s...

That actually looks pretty good. Great shot as well by the way.
Have to agree, I'm not a fan of the scheme, but that looks good.

Yeh one UK team, that's a laugh. While no fan of Miss S, at least she acts like a leader and gives out clear advice, not like the useless gits down in Westminster.

Re. what is happening in the devolved nations. If it is bothering any of you, you have 2 choices, move to the devolved nations to take "advantage" of the perceived benefits, or if you disagree with them, stay where you are and stop moaning about it, it doesn't affect you anyway.

A quick raid of the £2 bin in Morrisons today. One of the films I bought was called "Apocalypse, Day One". This could possibly be the worst film I have ever seen. Absolutely dire. Terrible editing and photography, and after 1h34m I still haven't a clue what was going on. There is some aviation conte...

Re: What are UKARians watching on TV?

Sat through "The Bridge" series the last few weeks, and the end of series 2 was pretty poor, certainly not worth the effort invested in watching the second series. And as for Saga, what a thoroughly unlikable human being. She makes Spock look like a frat house party animal.

Ah, but how many folk have got pics of Spitfires with the Tay Bridge in the background.

Nice set of pics to remember an unexpected visit by a couple of Spitfires.

Tonight's expected announcement re Switzerland is going to be interesting in light of 1500 new cases in the UK, I doubt their daily numbers are anywhere near as high as that. Doesn't bode well for the Swiss coming over to Leeming, although that may not be a bad thing. Tell me more about the Swiss v...

I tried googling then. Space really seems to be their thing.
Well we used to call it the moon rocket.

It wasn't the most fuel efficient of aircraft, but it would be nice to see them flying again.

The route is up on Notam map for Prestwick, Belfast, Cardif. I thought It might be worth a trip to the lakes to catch them, but they will be nowhere near there.

I hope South Ayrshire Council were taking note as to the crowd drawn by just one aircraft - imagine a full flying display. With only East Fortune north of the border we're crying out for something else. I hope so to. I heard more than one comment to the effect that there was a bigger crowd for this...

Nice shots Gordon. I somehow managed to miss the 747 coming in, and had considered going up to the bridge to get the 225 taking off, but with the mound jam packed, I didn't think it would be possible to drive up there and find a spot to park. Wish I had now, those take off shots are excellent.

Re: An-225 (and others) at Prestwick 2 Aug 2020

Like the take off shots Euan. It was well worth the trip over, but as you say, it was packed. I stayed at the mound. I would have liked to have gone to the bridge for the take off, but feared it would have been impossible to get parked there and in position in time.
