Re: 50th Anniversary Of The Museum Of Flight East Fortune
The conservation hanger was open when I was there and I could just walk in. Lots of stuff packed in there and I fail to see where this stuff, particularly the Phantom and Buccaneer, is going to go once their "conservation " work is done. It was sad to see the state of that hanger and the a...

Went there about 6 weeks ago and it is a pale shadow of what it used to be.

What did I hear?
I was up at Sanna Bay on the West coast of Scotland on Sunday and had climbed a hill to a cairn that looked over to the Inner Hebrides. This was around 12.00 PM local time, and I took a few pics and headed back down. Around 20 minutes later and lasting till around 12.45 I heard the droning of what I ...

Re: Top Guns Channel 4
I'm a bit confused, this was supposedly "Mac ,N, Cheese" first flight in a Typhoon. Did they not start on T birds or is all the pre flying training done in the sim now?

Do you think 13 Sqn were over compensating for having no manned aircraft by having the biggest Sqn patch in the world?

"The ones that did come out of that episode a little negatively were the Red Arrows with an aircraft not lowering their undercarriage."
I got the impression that was engineered for the TV.

Re: Flat runways??
The dip at the end of the runway at Lossiemouth was particularly useful when the Jags were there, as they were so under powered they could only get airborne by runway falling away from underneath them. :grinning: That's rather odd given they had no issues at Coltishall's runway 22/04 at 7,500 feet ...

Swiss arrivals at Leeming 11 Nov 24
Had to get my Hornet fix for the year and decided 10 jets in good weather was to good to miss, so headed down to Leeming for the arrival of the Swiss for York Night 24. First in was an Embraer 190 then a PC12 presumably with the support crew, then the Hornets arrived as 5 pairs over a period of abou...

Dutch at Carlisle 19th June
Had an excellent afternoon/evening at Carlisle, in glorious sunshine. A visit by the Dutch King in a Gulfstream, a third Cougar and the Chinook that arrived on the Tuesday added to the aircraft that arrived on Monday, made for 10 aircraft altogether, not a bad catch and a great day out. 1 https://i....

Lakenheath query.
I've noticed in a lot of posts from Lakenheath, that A4's and Alpha Jets are often featured. Are these permanently operating from there now, or is it just a long term contract?
