Re: Accident at Haneda

I’m always more convinced that it’s airline money-grubbing that results in footage (from many cultures in many locations around the world) of passengers taking luggage with them than any particular cultural issue. I’ve seen footage of the flight, and from what I saw (which I know isn’t determinativ...

Re: Accident at Haneda

I totally agree. The culture in Japan is to think of others before yourself and following the rules is a part of that, in all the videos I've seen after the accident, I didn't see one person with hand luggage. Could you imagine the chaos and casualties if that was a RYR/EZY flight landing at a Briti...

Re: Accident at Haneda

The Coast Guard DHC-8 was reportedly carrying aid to the area hit by the earthquake yesterday. I mean, bloody hell, as if the loss of life isn't already tragic enough.

Re: Accident at Haneda

Indeed, it's testimony to Airbus, the JAL crew, and all the safety lessons learned over the years that have meant everyone onboard the A350 survived.

It's being reported that the other aircraft involved was a Coast Guard Dash 8

Re: FRIAT 2024

You're probably best off just contacting them yourself, rather than asking on here. You can provide them with your seat number and if you explain the situation, they should be able to sort that for you.

Yeah! In the article, the 'tog describes how they had to fly due to the airspeed limitations of the airframe at that altitude.

Some great images here but most of them are far too over-processed for my tastes.

Re: FRIAT 2024

Having done FRIAT for the first time this year, I'm not sure what the renewal process is? I know we've got until the end of September to keep our seats but how do you go about confirming your renewal?

thanks in advance

Austrailian KC-30 and RAF Voyager this year, and German Typhoons last year too. The Japanese shift in policy is really paying dividends for the locals. *packs bags, moves to Japan

If you’re on holiday in Japan and go to an airshow, would you really turn your nose up at a Mitsubishi F-2 demo at Fairford because you’ve seen it before?

I've booked departures day, first time trying it! Not a clue which side to choose...
It really depends on what you want out of it, if you just want to see the action, then the Eastern end this year was better as there didn't appear to be much keeping low for P&V West.

Re: RIAT 2023 Discuss everything thread

My only real gripe has to be the catering, especially in P&V East. Why can't we have a simple, roadside-style, burger van selling the usual fare? Why does it have to be a van selling a very over-priced breakfast bap, with jam, in a brioche bun? Or one selling curries? I get that some people want...
