Great captures there! That Chinook looks as though a diet wouldn't go amiss. Whats the heads up with taking photos in this area? Do you need any sort of pass etc or can you just lurk in the bushes and leap out at an opportune moment!?

Was there back in '92 - That Yak was LOUD - so much so that a warning was annouced prior to its display. Think is was a Tuesday we went, really hoped to see the TU-22 but alas never flew on that day

Great set, looked like tricky conditions, that Tornado paint is stunning! In my opinion Tonkas look a bit naked and less purposeful without any stores, obviously necessary in this instance.

Furzey or Totterdown?
Usual Mach 2 for us this year, one show day out for a different slant, used the much missed Rhymes and Totterdown more recently but never tried Furzey, anyone got any advice/info as to which is best?

Re: Air Tournament International 1992, Boscombe Down
One other memory from ATI '92 - back in April of that year I attended the Phancon @ George AFB / California for the retirement of the F-4G (I think) and met a couple of Dutch guys during the meet, jokingly asked if they would be attending the Boscombe show and that we would see you there! So to my s...

Re: Air Tournament International 1992, Boscombe Down
In the top 5 of all the air shows me and my Dad attended alas my Dads health is not as good nowadays and the rigours of an air show weekend especially if was as hot as arrivals day back in '92 it's just too much, recall the CF-188 making a spirited arrival, but nothing like that Flanker! Great pics ...

Great post, really enjoy the look back at the halcyon days of wall to wall '104's, F-4's etc, Tanker/Herc line ups as far as the eye can see! Although amazed at the amount of FOD in a few images!

Great post of what is an iconic machine, remember those old air frames dotted about the airfield . Do remember visiting Binbrook during one of the Elder Forest series of exercises and of a Lightning chasing an A-10 ! Needless to say one definitely out turned the other!

Re: RF Leuchars "At Home" Days - the Home team (Pic Heavy)
Great post, always sad to see the demise of any airframe but especially so the Mighty Tomb. Only went to Leuchars the once to see the Phinal Phlight of 'Black Mike'. Whatever happened to this airframe? Loved the atmos in Bonnie Scotland!
