The info now in the public domain was likely known to those in the RAF/MoD at the time the tour to Bahrain was announced. Therefore it seems to be awfully poor judgement to sign off on such a tour.

Re: JSDF 301squadron gone?
JASDF PAO just put this on twitter.
10am Japan Time 20th November on their YouTube channel.
Not sure but it might be a live stream of the final Phantom flights.

Re: JSDF 301squadron gone?
Past 2 weeks has seen a tour of Japan by the 2 special scheme jets. This finished on Tuesday from what I can gather from Japanese spotters. Haven’t seen a specific posting that the squadron has stopped flying yet, but they are due to stop before the end of the month. I think the test squadron at Gif...

Re: Microsoft Flight Simulator Returns
Getting my “Edtracker pro” to work, a sort of pseudo TrackIr device, has really increased the immersion factor, especially doing the Bush flight challenge from Croatia to Santorini, which I have flown about 1/2 the legs so far.

Re: Microsoft Flight Simulator Returns
I did my PPL training on a C152 just over 20 years ago in my early 20’s. For various reasons I never kept the licence current. Today I downloaded the standard version of the latest MS Flight Sim and had a play around with the C152. This was the first time I had used Flight Sim in years. Even on medi...

Apologies - the first train from London arrives Swindon at 07:30.
I meant how long from then should it take to get to RIAT.

First train from London arrives at 07:30. From those who have used the shuttle bus before, what sort of time could I expect to get to RIAT then if getting first train?

As the tickets are being sold through the IWM website and it is being advertised on their website, then it is a legitimate question to ask them.

Will post the info when I get it.

The Herc departed around 9pm. Was a good way for the event to finish.

Re: Upgrade to Nikon D4?
The D4 is an older model of camera.
The D5 is the current Nikon pro model, which will likely be replaced before the Olympics next year.
Have you looked at the D500 or D850?

Re: 09r departures.
With Pakistani airspace currently closed, you may see some interesting routings next few days as flights to India, Singapore etc may take either more Northerly or more southerly routes.

Re: 09r departures.
Most optimal routings for that particular flight. Clacton departures take them on a more northerly routing through Germany and Eastern Europe before joining the arrivals stream headed to UAE, Qatar, Oman etc. Flight radar 24 is good for showing this. The subscription service allows you to overlay Ai...

Re: Bristow close to bankruptcy
Any bankruptcy will likely be a US chapter 11 filing. I'm not sure how that would impact on their UK & European operations. From airline chapter 11 filings in the US, this usually involves dumping of expensive aircraft leases either through new leasing agreements or returns to the lessor, and th...
