Re: NATO & Czech Air Force Days 2023
I've attended NATO Days regularly since 2010. I now live out here as I have a Czech wife. Many of these issues are purely down to Czech culture, as she often reminds me and finds amusing too! It doesn't matter what it is, but the Czech's have to be the first to see something and then tell all their ...

Re: New York Air Show 2019
I've recently booked. Travelling out via BA 747 on 22/08/19 to JFK and will drive up to local accommodation near the event. Have pit pass for Saturday and general admission for Sunday in case of need but will probably find a 'naughty field' then. Will hang around for departures on Monday before driv...

Taken from a boat in San Francisco Bay during the Friday show performance and my first time actually seeing 'Fat Albert' fly! https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1945/45318692962_b66771ec33_b.jpg DSC_6753 by Tim Beach , on Flickr https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1954/43554236860_2cd8a6e19c_b.jpg DSC_6932 b...

Thanks and yes, it was still turning onto the display line that unusually is 90 degrees off the main runway here and what makes it such a good venue for photography.

NATO Days
The annual NATO Days in Ostrava sometimes attracts some criticism. Having visited before in 2011, 2015, 2016 and 2017, it certainly delivered this year with good content both on the ground and in the air and all aided by fabulous weather especially on Sunday. The Czech Gripen was again a 'star perfo...

Radom 2018
OK, it wasn't the best show I've ever attended and certainly one that was supposedly celebrating a significant anniversary, but there were still opportunities to be had https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1894/30463655348_93513b8cce_b.jpg DSC_2509 by Tim Beach , on Flickr https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1...

Watching the Typhoon on live feed. Why all the terrible music and commentary.Spoils it I think having the song 'Thunderstruck' suits any Fast jet display , but that's my opinion. Commentary can be great in the right hands (or voices), but that's another discussion, and thread. Nowt wrong with a bit ...

Re: Radom Air Show 2018 (100th Anniversary of Polish Air For
Oh! you mean SU27 Bort # 58 & 71? How anybody cannot have seen these in the last few years is unbelievable! Beyond that you're treated to in excess of a dozen multi-aircraft display-teams that appear with almost monotonous regularity throughout the year, including so many 'toilet-break' items t...

RNAS Yeovilton International Air Day
Great to return to the Yeovilton International Air Show on Saturday having missed the last few years. As usual, it was very well organised with a good variety of display acts. Whilst the commando assault finale wasn't as large as previous years, it was still very impressive. A great representation o...

Re: 2017: where did you get to and what were your highlights
My shows this year: Avalon, Barksdale, Sola, RIAT, Eastbourne, CIAF and NATO Days. Highlights: Avalon - Perhaps surprisingly the US F-16 that was the most accomplished and aggressive display from a USAF example I've ever seen. - The Raptor and much better than at RIAT. - Seeing the Connie including ...

Re: Nellis AFB Airshow 2017
Hi all, I'm coming over from The Netherlands to visit this airshow. I noticed the prohibited items on the following website: http://www.nellis.af.mil/Air-Show/ Does this mean that I can't bring my Lowepro Vertex 200 AW camera bag into the showground? I'm hauling various lenses and camera's so its a...

Fantastic Flanker at CIAF 2017
The display at RIAT was great but the one at CIAF 2017 at Hradec Kralove was out of this world. Also explains why I save my pennies to attend shows abroad now and don't venture to many UK ones any more - the fast and low pass was at 50 feet rather than 250 and the display culminated in an explosion ...

Re: Breitling Jet Team first piece of music ?
I discovered Within Temptation first and now love Nightwish and Epica too, all similar genre but with their own band/singer flavours and personalities. As for Nightwish and the debate around which of their 3 singers is/were the best, it has to be Floor for me due to her versatility but most importan...
