Good news for when we can travel freely again. Always used to be a good value restuarant next to the terrace entrance too.

Re: IWM disposing of Avenger, Mi-24 and Kirby Cadet

It would be nice for the Avenger to go to somwhere in the UK, like the Ulster Av Soc. Didn't most of the last lot of disposals end up leaving the UK, some going to Poland?

Re: COVID-19: Your Thoughts and it's effects on you.

On the US side there is a long standing scepticism of anything that comes from any Federal law, they have a massive mistrust for the government. Probably magnified in Trump supporting places now? Meanwhile at home I am intrigued that cases are going down again. There does not seem to have been a spi...

I would agree with alot that has been said. I am 51 and always lived with the metric system. Does anybody ever go and by X KG,LB or what ever of anything anymore? Not that i ever go to the market, but would you just not say can I have 6 apples, or a punnett of strawberries? Like the crowns this is a...

Re: Aeralis Red Arrows?

So the RAF has no need for a Hawk T1 replacement for anything but the reds? It is training so few aircrew after all. They could always privatise the reds and put the aircraft on the civil register and the RAF could loan them the pilots and crews? A totally new aircraft would cost billions to develop...

Re: COVID-19: Your Thoughts and it's effects on you.

I am vaccinated but am against Covid passports as they prove nothing. We know vaccinated people can still carry the virus and pass it on so the 'passport' proves nothing. I am also against it as it is just very un-British. Vaccinations are going at a very slow rate although ours is 77% and 84% so no...

Just back from my first trip to Abingdon since the 90s' Arrived around 9:50 and drove straight in. Parked up on about the 5th row on B gate carpark about 10 cars along from the crowd line, perfect for watching the flying later. Was a biq queue for the showground opening at 10 but by 10:15 it had gon...

Re: BBMF Lancaster email

It does make me laugh how angry people seem to get on SM about aircraft that have been around for all of my life. Yes the Lanc has had and on/off few years and not been seen much but it is not like every airshow goer hasn't seen it at some point. Imagine the outcry if something went wrong during the...

Re: Abingdon Air(show) & Country Show 2021

I am planning on getting there around 10 to gate B, am I likely to sit in much traffic? From my experience of going every year since day one I've never had any problems getting in. Mind you, I'm usually there by about 9. Getting out tho' can be a bit hit and miss. You need to decide whether to go a...

National Insurance is not a fair tax, income tax is fairer. I am all for higher taxes if it actually fixes the NHS and social care? Trouble it get fritted away on management consultants and contracts for Tory doners. The NHS needs total reorganisation, 100% state owned, no contracting out to private...

The teenagers (14-18) I know are massivley more switched on that I ever was at that age . The ones I know have no issues with the vaccine, I think it should be easily available by having it at colleges and universities because some are lazy. I think their lifestyle is much healthier than mine was at...

Sounds like a great plan. I've been researching AirBandB as alternative to the University - maybe nice to "meet the neighbours", have a BBQ in the back hard etc I did look at them and they seemed very expensive. I like the idea of parking the hire car on the Saturday at the university and not need ...

Shame about the Ercoupe, an expensive little accident. Have watched lots of the live feeds and am really impressed with what I see. The sight of 30ish T-34's and the same numbers of T-6's was amazing on the webcams. I am not massivley into homebuilts and will probably spend the flying display around...

Great set. I did the last tour before lockdown and it was very cramped due to housing a couple of seaplane barges. Tour was run by the museum curator, and he was very open to questions like about the Skyraider outside. I would reccomend the tour to anybody.

Over a week on from 'Freedom day' how do you all feel about masks? I have not worn one since. Have been shopping a couple of times, to the pub, cafe and got dragged along to a big horse show at the weekend. While there I sat in a stand with a few hundred other people without a mask in sight. It feel...

Looks likes cases keep falling. Listerning to LBC at lunchtime it was put down to the Euros ending and schools breaking up. What ever the reason it is good news. I fear the next test will be in October/November when cases would naturally rise? Local vaccination here gives only 49 1st doses today and...

Some great live streams on the EAA youtube channels for arm chair spotting. Am looking to go next year so am paying attention. The F-15's seem to start about 08:00 and can oftern be aout for 2-3 hours. I was there in May from 8-2 with an hour at Mildenhall inbetween. Saw 5 F-15's go out and come back with many missed approached. Mildenhall was pretty quiet. Just remember at Lakenheath police have said the viewing area, and ...
