Re: Top Gun 2 - Its Happening

My only critisims is that there is not enough flying, should be 99% flying LOL. My only question would be how would a Captain in the USN afford a $2m private P-51? I did find the young aviators rather 'wet' but reflective of current generations.

Re: Farnborough 2022

There are plenty that were of great use 10 years ago but not now. Everything is so high by the time it leaves the airport permiter its not much good for photos. Plus most of it is south facing. Best sites are along the northside of the airport and at the eastern end of the runway. Plenty of parking ...

Final list for this on June 11th, remember it is all ticket, or you can be a cheapskate and view from the common! The German Fuji’s and a couple of others will be arriving on Friday. There will also be some vintage gliders from Lasham. I will be at the 'history hub' in the middle of the stall area n...

P&V Monday alternatives

Hi for one reason or another I had not got my Monday P&V tickets and now they show as sold out and join wait list. Never been a issue previously, can't believe it. Are there likely to be tickets on the day like there used to be? So what are the alternatives? I am not a photographer just collect ...

Then a week in Benalmedina start of October. Once again contemplating oshkosh for next year, its been 'n...

Have booked for the early showing on Wednesday in Farnborough. Then taking the Mrs with me on Friday, even though I was threatened with a divorce for going without her. Hoping for a 'directors cut', so just the flying sequences without the other stuff LOL

I can also only see a very limited display at farnborough. Probably one on static and maybe a pair flying or a number of formation flypasts. Personally far more excited to see the three support Hercs!

Re: Queens Jubilee - Flypast

Only just noticed this, good job I don't go up to the MAF to Friday. One diffrent vantage point is Battersea Park. I watched the RAF 100 from here and it was a great view. You are off to the south of the route by about 1/2 mile. If you turn into the park from Chelsea Bridge Road there is a big car p...

Re: Blackbushe 80th anniversary event 2022

A further update- we have gained the NHS Spitfire G-PRXI, with another one possible. Hurricane still a possible. Messenger G-AKBO has been sadly lost due engine issues. There are also a number of German Fuji FA200's coming to celebrate the types 50th year with the based example. Over 100 aircraft ha...

Suprised to see this, I am assuming it is a pilot issue? Have a couple of display pilots dropped out ? Or more likely is it to save money, will it be a permanant move?

I think it is a reflection on how the hobby is being changed in a post 'shoreham' and Covid enviroment. Few shows to attend, those that are on are pretty samey. Looks like only at RIAT will we see a 'full' show with fast jets operating from the venue, that is crazy compared to 30 years ago. Airshows...

Great set, looked like a good event. Never got my head around larger aircraft using the numer registration system is Aus? Thought that was mostly for microlights? Assume they are flown under certian restrictions?

Little happened here , turnout of 32%, I think tories won 8 wards, labour 4, Lib 1, or something like that. I have never lived anywhere with massivley pressing local issues so always vote how I would at the GE. Should there be a GE I really think Labour need to concentrate on the Tories being out of...

So anybody been over to vote today? Poling station is 5 min walk, staff sat around reading, not a big turnout I think. Who knew that Brexit and Boris could turn me off from 25+ years of voting Tory? Some brilliant updates. I do feel that the NATO estern members are wanting to be seen out there and show that they can contribute to the alliance. Like to be lots of top brass about and a chance for members to strengthern ties after a few years away. Come on Poland send a SH-2!

I was there but I looked away at the vital moment, only to look back and see one aircraft exploding as it hit the ground and the second in a flat spin about to kit the ground. From what I remember of the video one pilot as very lucky as the others wing could have gone right through the cockpit?.

In the late 90's I had my scanner confiscated while standing by the fence at Farnborough. Police were being a jobs worth but I got a caution under the Wireless Telegraphy Act. I understand it is still technically illegal to listern to this, let alone broadcast it. I thus break the law most days.

It is with regret we can confirm, for commercial reasons, that the Royal Navy International Air Day will not take place in 2022. It is hoped the Air Day will be back as usual in 2023.
