Re: Air Shows 2024

People are very quick to criticise but just checked and the post on Facebook stated “Don’t forget to book your discounted tickets for any of our airshows this year before the Standard rate comes into effect on Friday 16th “ If you wanted cheap tickets then you should have booked on 15th…… You must ...

Re: Air Shows 2024

On facebook last week there was a post by Shuttleworth stating 'discounts are coming to an end on Friday 16th February' (posted 27th Jan was still there when I checked) I must have been taught that to mean something different to everyone else, as when I went to book 5 shows on the 16th, the prices h...

Re: Hawker Typhoon Preservation Group

Agree their social media people need a customer service course and quickly. Possibly for the good of the project they ought to step aside and let someone else do it. I used to be a member for a couple of years but gave up after receiving an email demanding to know why I hadn't renewed on the 1st Jan...

Re: Summer Evening Picnic Air Show - Saturday 15 July 2023

Did note they are only refunding tickets purchased with the so called extra protection, nice little money maker for them then if it's cancelled and not many have taken that out. I noticed that as well, not sure Shuttleworth are quite understanding the point of cancellation insurance. You take it ou...

Re: Season Premiere - King & Country Air Show (Sunday 7 May 2023)

I did hear someone say that a Shuttleworth rep at the station was telling people to get a receipt and Shuttleworth would reimburse so seemed like fair solution to lack of bus on the day

Re: Duxford Flying Finale Saturday 8th October

I'd love to see the risk assessment for a dark field with moving cars and pedestrians mainly lit by car head lights. Except I imagine everyone assumed they would be out before night fall! Would have been interesting if emergency services needed to attend anything on the site.. Will see what response...

What aircraft was Mike Ling flying? I heard the announcer say he was flying but couldn't make out if it was the Spitfire or Hurricane near the end of the show.

Re: Duxford Flying Finale Saturday 8th October

Yes the getting out was a disgrace. I normally accept it as part of the experience but when you've not moved for 2 hours and it's dark and you have the headlights on theres something very wrong. And the only marshal I saw came pulled a barrier across an exit and left a stream of cars to fight their ...

BBMF hurricanes off to Biggin?

Both bbmf Hurricanes just flew through the Wrotham gap, off to Biggin for winter? Defo wasn't Biggins own pair, one was black the other had a red stripe on tail!

Ah, that answers what was flying over our house last Saturday. Usually get the Biggin Hill lot flying over several times a day but saw the Mkix with 2 helicopters go over (spit doing a barrel role over the house, might have to get Christopher Plummber to have a word!)

Great shots

Excellent day, 7 hurricanes will be remembered for a long time. P47 display disappointed me as well, but really enjoyed the spit V display. Only 8 airworthy hurricanes in the UK? I know it's unlikely to appear away from Biggin but the heritage hangar may have something to say about that, and 505 use...
