Re: Kecskemét Airshow, Hungary - 2013

Why are you so over the moon because of these two country confirmations? This could mean a static P180 and F-16 also...nothing to be euphoric about...yet. :tumbleweed:

It's that time of the year again...[LOWI]...UPDATE

...winter season in Innsbruck brings some more action to this otherwise sleepy airport. Excuse the amount of 757 shots but you have to admit that sleek jet looks good in the snow! Hope you like them: ---------------------------- http://img685.imageshack.us/img685/4815/gbyaxb752img4359.jpg http://img...

Re: Zeltweg AirPower 2013

'Please note that there is only used water and no shower facilities at the two campsites.' WTF!!!! This is because the 'campsites' are not real campsites but just fields on which camping is permitted during the show. I think it is more meant for caravans instead of tents hence the missing facilitie...

Re: Kecskemét Airshow, Hungary - 2013

Just to add what has been said already, in 2010 I went by train from Budapest Nyugati train station (nice architecture btw.) to Kecskemet and used a taxi to the desired show gate because the queue was huge in front of the shuttle bus stop. Had some trouble finding the right train at first but some f...

Re: Head Torch, Ideas?

Don`t know of these are available in the UK but maybe you can order it online somewhere. Any headlight by this brand (LED Lenser) is just great. I used it many times for climbing or running at night. Really bright and good battery performance.

EDIT: it is available in the UK! See:

Re: Mountains...and some inhabitants!

Thanks a lot guys, I appreciate your comments very much! In #11 that is indeed a marmotte, very shy and hard to capture animals but with some patience it worked! Kit used was a Canon 7D (some are with a 40D) with 17-40mm L lens and polarizing filter circular shooting in aperture mode around f8.0 or ...

Mountains...and some inhabitants!

Hi everyone, All of these were taken in the Alps of northern Tyrol, some are air-to-ground shots using a motorglider but the majority were captured during recent hiking trips. The perfect weather conditions during the last few weekends motivated to get out and take a few snaps of landscapes and also...

Nice shots but they just confirm my opinion that going there is not worth the effort if you want action shots.
Quite surprised that the Turks were allowed to fly a crossing maneuver...was this further away from the crowd than usual?

Re: Something different - soaring in Austria

Thanks again folks, will post some more as soon as I have time. My first tries were with the GoPro but the photo quality of the camera did not match my expectations so I tried with a Ricoh Digital GR III compact camera mounted on the wing using a tripod quick release plate and duct tape. The other p...

I was taking-off and landing also (well, most of the time) from Reutte-Höfen LOIR, a little airfield in northern Tyrol. Thanks agai...

Something different - soaring in Austria UPDATE

Hi everyone, Here are some shots of recent flights in the Alps of Tyrol using a LS1 glider. A compact camera was mounted on the wing using duct tape and a interval function clicked the shutter every 5 seconds. The scenic pictures were made during sunset flights using a SF-25 motor-glider. I hope you...

Great shots, very interesting. Does Team 60 still exist? Also what is that white Sk60, I thought this would be the scheme for Team 60 but it seems like this is the sole example painted like that!?

Thanks
