Whats happened to `Breakaway Aviation Tours` ?
Just wondering if anybody knows if Breakaway Aviation Tours has ceased to exist ?? Run by a great chap called Rick Sleight, the website link is now dead. Great shame,as I enjoyed some great base visits with them. Does anyone know of any other tour groups that organize visits to military bases in the ...

Re: What should I look for when buying a scanner?
Agree with Brevet Cable`s comments. I only use a fraction of the 3500`s capability, same with my camera`s really. Yes,the dedicated cable is a bit pricey, but ,in my opinion worth it,for the flexibility it gives with `talking` to your PC. The manual that comes with the Bearcat 3500 is not easily under...

Re: What should I look for when buying a scanner?
Definitely second the recommendation for the Uniden 3500.. Seems complex at first, but is brilliant. One good point is ,you can save your frequencies to your PC,so if your scanner should lose them, they can be restored. You may think this scanner is more than you need -- I did -- It isn`t !! Good Luck ...

Fantastic news Phil
Will now be able to attend..
Can understand the frustrations of people who have made plans, but hopefully will result in a higher attendance and more money for the good cause

Hi Jeff, Yes, I do use a shoulder mount, and been to Northolt a few times. One side effect of 40+ years at BA is that Senior Moments seem to happen more frequently !! I do remember chatting to somebody a few times at Northolt Photoshoots - probably yourself ? Hopefully we will meet up again. Cheers C...

Yep,you are still a `Puppy` !!
I joined BOAC as an apprentice in 1971,still at BA now in T5.
Looking forward to retiring next year.
I never worked on the `Pocket Rocket`,so don`t know if our paths have crossed..
All the best for the next 25

Re: Northolt Night Photoshoot XIV
I agree with Gord`s comments.
It was great to see the Hurricane, and really enjoyed it.Would not be prepared to pay the surcharge every time.
Perhaps a Warbird could be invited every 3rd or 4th Photocall ??
Great effort though.

Real Shame I won`t be able to make it.
I live five minutes from Northolt, but will be at Yeovilton for the arrivals..
Could maybe do both, but would rather cover one properly than both rushed. (Aforementioned traffic issues)
I`m sure the photocall will be great..

Anyone been to the Thai Air Force Museum - Bangkok ?
Hi All, I am visiting Bangkok at the end of this month, and intend to visit the Thai Air Force Museum adjacent to Don Muang Airport. According to the museum website, various buses go there from Bangkok City, although checking the route maps, they all seem to terminate at Mo Chit - miles away ..! The be...

He was calling on Brize Approach - either 127.25 or 297.8.
The way I have programmed my scanner,it displays `Brize App.`for both, so could be either of these freq`s.
Sorry I can`t be more helpful .

Re: NIMBYs pick on Brize
Totally agree with Smog Monster. RAF Brize Norton has been in existence since 1937,if people lived there before that, they can moan. Move near a major base since -- guess what -- you might hear aircraft !! Move house or accept it. The RAF do a fantastic job under very difficult conditions, and should ...

Ref GMT and BST. What I have worked out from previous flypast timings, and this has turned out correct is -- UTC = GMT (just another name) GMT is 1 Hour Behind BST BST is GMT + 1 Hour So,if all timings are GMT,the aircraft will arrive one hour later than advertised. Hope this clears it up Regards Chi...

Well I think the scheme is great.
It`s nice to see anything different applied to our military aircraft in these hard times.
I appreciate we will not get to see it,but well done to all concerned
