Re: Anti-drone protesters break into RAF Waddington
Fortunately, for the moderately far thinker (ie:- not MOD Procurement) there is no 'worth' in raising the level of the fence. The weakest point would be the glide-path onto the threshold of r/w 20 where the fence would be dynamically removed by an aircrafts' u/c if it was raised at all !! More likel...

Re: New Canon Body Options
I reached a similar impasse with my 1D Mk II & later 1D Mk3 recently & elected to buy a nearly new second-user EOS 1D Mk IV. My reasoning was/is:- a)Relatively Low cost of the upgrade due to everybody 'dumping' the MkIV for 1Dx full-frame body. b)High cost of 1Dx & it's lack of useful fe...

Re: Are you in or out?
May I ask: everyone gets upset about the naughty field, but nobody seems to mind the people in Duxford school? I don't know where it is located, but isn't it also on the 'wrong' side of the display line? Why is there no outcry over that? Just because it helps the school a bit financially? Genuine q...

'Proof'... if proof was needed, that well lit topsides shot from the 'darkside' is possible, even if a little boring!
Another quality set of images from 'your place'. (Home from Home?)

Really excellent well thought-out compositions (as in your main airshow post seen elsewhere). Miniscule comment, you need to lower the shutter speed a tad for you props-running shots. Big comment.. the selfish muppet in shot 15 needs slapping! He could at least park his butt behind some other obstru...

Yep! The TM. needs hosting by a nation with money...NOT still making it! Guessing it'll be Germany next then?? I will hold-back attending until the TM. gets to a nicer meteo & financial climate.

If you trespass, you always do so at the risk of being shot / run over by a tractor / attacked by a dog / ... The key is trespassing, not the qualifier. at this rate the chances of getting attacked by a dog, shot or run over iis 1 in 100+ chance At Florennes, there was no sign on the fence, yet if ...

Hi guys Is there a compelling reason why many of the proffessional aviation phots use Nikon? I'm thinking the likes of Jamie Hunter, John Dibbs, Katsu Tokunaga etc. Thanks Martin Now.... the last thing I would do is pedal malicious gossip, but...try re-arranging the following:- Sponsorship, Free, N...

That's a whole lot better than the abandoned/faded look of last year. I'm not a fan of the American fad of sky-blue 'airfix' windows to all their planes on sticks...but heyho, better than yellow & crazed in the incesssant sunshine. Sadly it does seem that any chance of a long-term return to flig...

[ Like all of us I've seen a few aircraft plough in at shows over the years. S64 fatal at Farnborough, Buffalo non-fatal at Farnborough, MiG29 collision at RIAT (I don't think those two considered where their aircraft were coming down for a microsecond before they pulled the handles) and so on. All...

we are straying off topic but I have to point out that risk is not calculted purely from historical data (people do this all the time on the gambling/casino channels which I find hilarious "thats the 7th black in a row"). The fact that an aircraft has not crashed specifically at the spot ...

So maybe it is myself and others who haven't got this correct to clarify: a) depriving (in this case) the museum of revenue by watching from elsewhere So if someone brings say a new Hunter or an aircraft from US of A, to the airshow circuit then the " free loaders" have no moral duty to s...

Really excellent set of photo's from history. Noticed the B-25 has a 'flat' glass nose, had it been used as a camera-ship? Your last picture features a/the Drover ( I think?) . Would this be the unbelievably complete version of the wreck that rotted at the former 'SWAPS' collection on the periphery ...

Very varied views on the issue of the 'missing' IFR probe on Airseeker & I can see validity in all of them. What I struggle with, as a mortal not involved in Government acquisitions(read ), is that in a time of limited finances they do NOT optimise their 'new' aircraft for the future needs not y...

No knowledge of this particular lens, but some telephoto lens have a 'focus-range' limiting switch on the barrel. Have you inadvertently moved this to short-range?

Let's all hope their 'special frame' for lifting it isn't an over-engineered lightweight item, similar to the one they used to lift the Wellington from Loch Ness!! In that case the aircraft 'glided' back to the bed when the frame broke. I believe the second attempt worked using an enormous steel-bea...

Some call it 'Servicing'...some call it 'Preventitive Maintenance'. Whichever, its sole purpose is to identify potential problems ahead of failure & ensure the continued performance of the item in question. If your camera dies at a bad time due to lack of attention, you don't get your shots. If ...
