Re: Belgian Air Force Days 2016
Two questions for those that have been before please: What is it like compared to Fairford in terms of traffic on Saturday morning? I'll stay up to an hour away but wondered what time is ok to plan on arrival. Before I order tickets can someone confirm they are printable and are not posted out? Chee...

Funny isn't it. Not a problem to photographers when they aren't affected yet when I raise a valid point I get called a moaner. Now let me see, imagine a B17 in the open for a nice photo and for no reason at all a Chipmunk gets put under the wing. Oh and the moaners about the fun fair and slides in t...

Why not just respray it (1 week?) and be done with it. 3-5 years is utterly ridiculous.

Ridiculous lay outs at Hendon
It's been a couple of weeks since I went but what is the point of the stupid mixed up displays at Hendon. And other places come to think if it. I wish I had noted them all but at Hendon I think I recall a Buccaneer near a Spitfire, a German plane near some civvie light thing, the Typhoon near some u...

Then your close personal friends need to take this up with all the many that contributed to lightning boys 1 and 2 plus lightning eject. I am merely relaying what I read from proper first hand accounts. Not your arm chair wannabe wannabelieve attitude.

Re: Oh YES! Lightning XS452 flies again
Ive now read all those Lightning books, Lightning eject etc etc. The plane was a disgrace no matter what rose specs you enthusiasts wear. Barely could stay in the air for 45 minutes and carried a whopping 2 missiles. Yeh great to see all British Mach 2 thing go vertical after take off just a few ye...

And I would say if I was thirsty and had the choice between a fountain with clean water and one where I'm going to be persecuted and abused and put in a camp for drinking from, I know which I'd choose. But the fountains in Turkey and Greece are very clean to drink from.....................just look...

Re: Mr Blue Sky returns to the Airshow Circuit for 2016!
Incredible that in times of so called cut backs the MOD (RAF mainly) continue to paint aircraft in certain schemes. The odd tail I can support. An entire twin commuter aircraft I cannot. Utter waste of money though I would like to know what the cost is of painting aircraft of this or fighter size. H...

Re: Wellesbourne Mountford's future
Runway length is doable. V1 would be something like 60kts, above which the calculation would be 'could it get airborne on 3 engines' (in the remaining length).

Re: Airstrikes in Syria - UKAR's Thoughts?
There is some ill-informed comments here. This is nothing like Iraq and Libya, we are not bombing the regime/Government. Nor are we actually bombing (or assisting) rebels. We are bombing a terrorist group. People who want YOU dead in YOUR country. So no bad thing. What I would like to see is intelli...

Re: So, should they have scrapped Nimrod?
I think the experts here that have no military or MOD background have finally solved what the best solution would have been. 6 engines. So 2 can be shut down to conserve fuel which leaves the safety of 4. If any fail then there is the option to either return on 3, or start number 5 or 6. Since there...

Re: So, should they have scrapped Nimrod?
Come off it, how many twins have engine failures these days? I would guess it would remain on station until another deployed, the risk of a double failure being so minute. Anyway it's ordered, get over it people and be happy.

Re: So, should they have scrapped Nimrod?
Ah the armchair experts appear who know better than the MOD. What have I read above - possibly 38 737s in the end to replace, well just about everything. But hang on 2 engines not good enough (despite millions of passengers around the world flying on them every day without twin failures). Best make ...

Anyone miss the statement on the previous page they're keeping an amount of Hercules into the 2030s? That's either an admission the A400M can't do what the Herc does, or they're not buying enough. I don't think so. Did you consider it may be the best vfm for the tax payer in the current time period...
