Re: Mildenhall Burgers

I've never heard of A1 burger sauce just the A1 steak sauce. That is similar to HP brown sauce and nothing like the stuff at Mildenhall in 1990. I'm in Florida in July and will be buying 3 bottles of different sauces to bring back to see which I recall is the most similar.

Come on, we have Tornado GR4, Typhoon and Apache. At least you can now go on the AMARC tour and get close!

Re: Museums in Europe

It is but don't worry, any onfo on such museums between France and Slovakia and north south from say Denmark down to Greece are fine for future trips. A search on Amazon produced nothing in terms of guides to European museums that could be considered up to date. I'm sure there are books out there li...

Brilliant, it's free and has a Caravelle. That's the Friday before Fairford dealt with, anything in Germany? I'm in Prague again next month so will look in on Kbely thanks. Blimey that's free to and boasts 275 aircraft!!!

Museums in Europe

Before embarking on the trip to RIAT I wondered if anyone knew of any good (eg. more than 25ish aircraft) museums close to my route which will be Prague-Nuremburg-Frankfurt-Kon-Brussels-Calais. Needs to be close to that route and not more than 30 mins away from the autobahns since I'm already doing ...

Re: Mildenhall Burgers

Probably the reason there is no queue has something to do with: a) mohican man b) a fuel tank in the foreground c) that highly inappropriately dressed (for the legs) woman in white........................ Iain - if I can get it to work can I have your permission to post as a video the first 20 secon...

Re: Mildenhall Burgers

Hang on, isnt the label the same as those blokes' badges? Hence a USAF 'special' with their stickers over it? That would explain why in the video the guy showing bloke (at least I think its a bloke) the bottle points to it and makes a point of something. Could be saying 'look its our own sauce'. In ...

Re: Mildenhall Burgers

I assume PV east is the same as the place we go for departures Monday? Provided it is at the 27 end of course. Will look in to that.

Re: Mildenhall Burgers

Just found this to end all discussion!!!!!!!!!!!! It's a photo off my TV as that's the quickest way to get it on here but the bottle of that sauce is clearly depicted. Trouble is today it will be a different design I suspect. Feel free to carry on the discussion!!! http://i47.tinypic.com/2445v0x.jpg...

Re: The death of another RAF trade.

There's a thought, target towing. What is the point in this day and age? Typhoon firing cannon at a banner behind a Hawk in the year 2012 in case our next war needs that?

But not if they hold a flight radio telephony license! Trouble is mine is VHF, but listening years ago to the flight testing of EAP at Warton was good.

Re: Mildenhall Burgers

They weren't exactly big where they. Which meant two on the way in (can you recall they had the stand going from about 8am at the entrance, where I always used to buy that year's sticker from also), two for lunch and others throughout the day as required..........................

While on this rather sad subject does anyone like that HP Guinness sauce? I hate it, went straight in the bin - a bit of a gimmick if you ask me.

Are we honestly saying that Bud and Schlitz are something to write home about?!!!!! They are shocking for taste, but Bud is 5% so contrary to popular believe it is NOT weak p*** that everyone seems to harp on about.

Re: Mildenhall Burgers

I'm in Florida in July (go the day after Fairford departures day) and usually bring sauces back. I'll probably get 5 bottles for $1 each in Walmart and let you know how it tastes!

You are right, it's 1955. My god - Lockeed Sherpa, IL28 Butcher and the 3 bladed prop C130A just 10 years after the end of WW2!

What old nostalgic books have you? Here's my oldest.....

The Guide to Airfields one is where is all started for me as a guide to planning spotting trips. 1982 it was published by TAHS. The Observers book is the 1957 edition. The contents of both make me cry when I see what used to be (in terms of airfields long gone and now all we have are Boeings and Air...
