Re: Boris Johnson questions grey colour for Voyager

The answer is pragmatically that as a monarchy we don’t view our politicians as anything better than higher paid civil servants. Our real head of state and the royals get all the flashy stuff, our politicians, including the Prime Minister are viewed as “nothing special” - really. But then the Queen...

Re: Peter Teichman retiring

The thing I don't get is, is that he was bemoaning the sale of the Hurricane earlier in the year, saying how much of a restriction only having the Mustang and Spitfire was. (as they were in maintenance at the time). Hopefully he makes a final appearance at Old Warden before he hangs up his pilots gl...

Perhaps that was another reason for the Hurricane being sold.

Shame we’ll never get to see him displaying the “Russian” Spitfire.

Re: Old Warden crowd size

Certainly seemed like there was more than 7600 in there yesterday.

To me it seemed like it was a lot busier than last year when they had the Red's and the Vulcan's last show in 2015. (which were also sell outs).

Re: Lancaster engne issue

According to some reports elsewhere, it was due to high oil temperature in engine #4. It was shut down, and the props feathered as a precaution.

Hopefully not a major issue, and not one that grounds it for a lengthy period.

Re: May 6th - Season Premiere & RAF centenary

Surely a sell out is the ideal scenario for Shuttleworth, that all of us should applaud? The more tickets they sell, the more money they have to maintain their exhibits - either in a flying condition or static exhibit. Besides, it the Typhoon and Lanc are on at the time suggested in a earlier post, ...

Like Boff, I really don't care whether people think it belongs there or not. It's the RAF 100, so having a current RAF fighter there is applicable.

Here's hoping for a LOW pass ala the Catalina from last year!

Phil - if it lands early in the day, run out and disable it somehow, so that it has to stay for the evening :)

Is it scheduled to ground run at all?
