I'm going from Birmingham as well and usually go via M5 to Junction 11A then A417.Last year I don't remember to many problems traffic wise. Going home, especially over the weekend was a pain though, as you have heavy traffic on the A417 all the way back to the Air Balloon pub at the traffic island ...
