Unfortunately there is not a lot else that could be done with it.

Re: Your 2018 Highlights

I think the biggest highlight this year has to be the weather! I went to 7 displays this year, 5 of them were scorchers, another was a pleasant sunny day and the other just cloudy. Never had a season like it! As for the displays, highlights would be Trenchard plus, finally getting to see the USAF he...

Re: Air defence Hawks?

Weren't Hawks involved in the RAF role demo about 8 years ago? It involved an attack on an airfield involving Tornados and a Chinook if I recall correctly. Were the Hawks providing cover for the Tornados? They were acting as the 'enemy' aircraft, 'shot down' by the Tornado F.3's protecting the GR.4's

TFC don't have a Sea Fury any more, they sold it.

Wasn't aware that they'd sold it. Who owns it now out of curiosity?

You beat me to it. Yes, they are. I went to the open day a couple months back to see what they were about. Didn't seem to have much of an idea of what work they were going to do, so that could be a plan! :pinkwafer: :clown:

Re: Dunsfold Wings & Wheels 2018

I'll second that, very good day. Little bit chilly earlier on, but it soon warmed up (just!). As said, the Sea Fury display was brilliant (from TFC instead of RNHF), never seen a re-engined one before so was a change. MiG 15 put on a decent display with the addition of strafing runs with pyros, whil...

Festival of Flight 2018

Challenging day photography wise, with darker conditions prevailing until the sun appeared at the end, when it's right in front of you of course! Re: Biggin Hill Festival of Flight 2018

Had a very good day, thoroughly enjoyed it. Weather didn't really play ball, but it didn't curtail any displays and a bit of a change to not sit there sweating my tits off like all the previous shows this year! As for the flying, as said above the Battle of Britain set piece was great with a lot of ...

Re: Gatwick Airport 2007 - 2012

Apparently part of the contract was the aircraft was to be painted in to British Airways colours - only BA didn't supply the diagrams in time so Excel (Or XL as they were at the time?!) went it alone. All a bit odd, as there were and still are plenty of British Airways coloured 737s, including a fe...

Re: Gatwick Airport 2007 - 2012

Amazing how much things can change in less than a decade, nice photos. The BA 737-800 was initially operated by Excel Airways (sadly also defunct) which transferred the aircraft to GB Airways, presumably as a wet lease. The aircraft is still airworthy, operating as N733MA for Miami Air Internationa...

Gatwick Airport 2007 - 2012

Seeing as Gatwick these days is pretty much an endless stream of A320's & B737's, I thought I'd look through my archive and post up a few shots of the more unusual movements / no longer seen aircraft from over the years. Apologies for the poor quality of some, I only had a point & shoot back...

Technically, but currently tied with the 787 (No fatalities, No hull losses)
