Re: RIAT 2018 discussion

Well that blew up out of nowhere! Moving on... That KC-390 will be great to see; a new heavy for me to explore! Do people reckon we'll be treated to anything big in the flying? Do the Italians still display their Spartan?

Re: NATO Tiger Meet 2018

Ahh so this is where all Germany's money goes? Much rather have this than high serviceability rates! Beautiful scheme! No, they just don't drop any bombs. Just one storm shadow launched last night would pay for ten aircraft being painted... It's like a soldier that doesn't fire a rifle... One Storm...

Re: RAF Cosford Air Show 2018 - [Main Topic]

On a different note, according to the website ' A special flypast to honour the polish pilots who flew in the RAF during ww2 is planned' . Sounds interesting, spitfire and mig 29 flypast maybe ? Don't the BBMF have a Spitfire painted up in Polish colours? With the MiG-29 it'd certainly be a very ni...

To be honest I feel that god who is RIAT ops has actually done the remark an injustice and I was referring to the fact that lets hope the RAF get fully behind the event . I do love the way that everything can be contstrued in a negative way on this forum ,and that people are so willing to jump on i...

Wow. This thread was sour from the start but... Wow! The level of immaturity, maybe even stupidity, is crazy. I pay my tax so I want this and that and it's all for me. Stop trying to plug your agenda as the thoughts of large majority and maybe try to understand why things are the way they are before...

Re: RIAT 2018 discussion

It could be as simple as the paperwork hasn't been received or an email hasn't been sent, couldn't it? Anyway I think this drives the point home of not expecting confirmations unless DBH confirm it; simple as. There could be a multitude of reasons, of which we probably don't need to know, as much as...

As said above this is nothing new or out of the blue, and it makes a lot of sense to generate spares packages in this way. At least in this specific set of circumstances.

Re: RIAT 2018 discussion

Very nice. Edit: It's a shame that RIAT's "latest updates" page is following the same tired formula of just listing what's confirmed in the text box, which we can see for ourselves on the confirmed aircraft page. The real value of the "latest updates page" is/was genuine latest ...

Re: Scampton Airshow 2018

It's' almost like people have waited for a moment like this to revisit their gripes and moans with the show this year, which is such a shame. As said beforehand we need all the airshows we can get and if that means postponing a year to iron out the details or to assess whether it's feasible and prac...

"...might as well save money & take just 6 to Greece!"

Comments like that really do bemuse me. It reads as if you think it's your god given right to see 9 reds in the air all the time, every time regardless of circumstance. That and it's just not helpful and childish. There's no need.

I'll probably get slaughtered for saying this, but he's in the armed forces and on top of that a lot of people have paid good money to see them perform. Tech issues are bad luck, but paternity leave - seriously? Does a front line sniper drop his rifle and stand up in Afghanistan? Does an MI6 agent ...

So does that mean you're ignoring the other shows that the RAF supports? Do they not count because they're not official RAF shows? I can understand your point about it being the only official RAF show, but the case can easily be made that the likes of RIAT take precedence for seemingly obvious reaso...

I for one would find it interesting to see if the announcments for RIAT ever started with the likes of the home team displays and the Belgian F-16, and whether or not people would jump on them for that? I can't imagine so, either...
