Re: RIAT 2017 (Discussion & Participation Thread)

Question is (after what happened last year) will there be a Chinook display at all or will it be axed before the season starts due to some fatique issues, or whatever problem will be refered to as fatique issues? Implying you don't believe it was axed due to fatigue issues? No, but I find it strang...

Re: RAF Cosford Air Show 2017 - [Main Topic]

Can you please argue how the Dutch fleet is stretched more then the RAF please? Before you answer, have a hard think about the answer. Sure, take their operational fast jet fleet of only 61 aircraft: several are in the US for training/exercises, they also share with the Belgian Air Component the re...

Re: RAF Cosford Air Show 2017 - [Main Topic]

I just want to say how proud I am of the RAF for their fantastic contribution to the forthcoming show. You're not serious are you?.. I see no reason why not. Cosford has every display team the RAF has, as well as five other units' aircraft on static display; not including 1 SoTT's assets. Hard to t...

Re: RIAT 2017 (Discussion & Participation Thread)

Maybe he meant do they have a list of displays/ participants that could be taken from the static park, with those crews and so on notified that that could be a possible outcome closer to the show? Let's not go off on one just yet.

Re: RAF Cosford Air Show 2017 - [Main Topic]

Sundowner does have a point though, the top brass will bend over backwards for a Royal flypast, operational commitments or not, but not for the tax payers who pay for the RAF. So what are you saying exactly? Is it that you expect participation from the RAF because you pay some taxes (or words to th...

Operational commitments my arse What knowledge is it that you have on opertional commitments? Do you have an insight into what it is the RAF is doing with each aircraft type at any given time of the year? I I have about as much knowledge as any other member of these boards, just not a member of the...

Re: RAF Scampton Air Show 2017

Just be patient! Yes it's frustrating having nothing confirmed yet, but what is the point in judging one show on the strength of another? Yes Sanicole looks good, but why does that mean Scampton won't be good? Stay calm and time will tell.

Whilst not confirmed, and I by no means intend to be one to start rumours, I have it under good authority that there will be a pair of static RAF Typhoons present at the show. Hopefully the website is updated accordingly soon otherwise I shall look the fool. :loser:

Indeed you are correct! Students practice on a marshalling simulator for basic handling and progress onto the real thing which is obviously more challenging and much more real, believe it or not.

Personally, I don't see the problem with a lack of colour on an aircraft in the flying display (least of all fast jets) as generally the flying itself is more eye catching. Each to their own, however.

Re: RIAT 2016

As far as I'm aware GINA is still in some phase of "deep" maintenance with TMF at Coningsby which is where I last saw her, so I'd be surprised if she was used next weekend.
