Re: Your holiday plans

My money's on Tier 4 (or even 5) for the whole UK from now until Easter, when we might have some idea of the AZ vaccine's effectiveness. I think they timed the vaccine announcement for today as the alternative is too horrendous to contemplate based on yesterday's figures.

Re: Your holiday plans

I think it will be a few months before they know the effects of the vaccines on the current rate of spread (which appears colossal) the UK still has only a tiny percentage exposed to Covd-19 so far, 53,000 new cases today sounds a huge figure but it's less than thousandth of the population; if it ke...

The deal means that the UK has still carried out the most pointless, expensive and needless act in its recent history.

What nation puts up barriers to trade? Of its own accord. Unprecedented move and one that will haunt us for years.

I don't get it; why does the UK need to retain its fishing waters for UK use only? we already allow EU operators a nearly 2 thirds of our quota and we are not suddenly going to take that back into UK control. The map here puts it into context; the UK has more exclusive waters than all the EU states ...

The Pfizer / BioNtech (is the 2nd half of that partnership in danger of getting forgotten despite having developed it?) Bit of a toy / pram interface from the EU about the MHRA approval of the Pfizer / BNTech vaccine for the UK? maybe just frustration that they have to agree among 27 member states about approving? I know from work experience that the MHRA are EXTREMELY thorough when it comes to anything, doesn't mean...

But by adjusting the dose, they also expect 90% effectiveness. Even with the current results, it is a far cheaper, quicker to produce and easier to store & distribute compared to the others. 70% effectiveness is still pretty damn good anyway, better than the annual flu jab I dunno; it seems a bit m...
