Re: Flying Legends 2013

Apologies if this has been covered elsewhere. I was just wondering if anyone knew why P51 'Miss Helen' was listed as a participant but did not show. There was a significant piece in the programme about her so there must have been a solid booking. Also, any ideas what happened to the Wildcat on Sund...

Re: The 2 Blue noses and the Red Bull B25 @ Dux!

Lovely couple of shots there Pete! shame I missed the B-25 but hey, sure she'll be about again. Not sure if you know or not but shes now appeared on the flying list for RIAT this weekend. Yup, Exactly right. My info said that she is replacing the P38 which is experiencing continued problems with th...

Re: Flying Legends 2013

Wonder if wind direction changed sufficiently today to merit a change of take off runway? Saturday felt odd with no fighters giving the western end a haircut! Taking off from the M11 end on Sunday. On another note, the Swordfish was dragged away with a noticeable dent on the fin. Anyone know how it...

Appreciate your input Pete. I think I'll end up using that combo then. What camera were you using btw? Andy. Hi Andy, I use a D300S, Previously used a D2x but wanted something a little more modern. The 80-400 AFS has got some good reviews I used the previous non AFS one for about a week before it w...

Re: Hiriing a Nikon 70-200mm 2.8

I have a 70-200VR 2.8 and I use the 1.4 and 1.7tc's on it. I tried a 2x and it was bad, even for a great bit of glass like the 70-200. I have found that baring small aircraft running in from the other end of the field that a 1.7x tc on the glass works fine. I have been tempted with buying the 200-40...

Re: Despicable behaviour by 'enthusiasts'

I will retract the ban bit then but the point still stands; this behaviour casts us all in a bad light. The actions of the few.... That I can get behind, Im not supporting it saying that he should do it, only that it would be very harsh for a ban and a simply collar round the neck back over the rop...

Re: Despicable behaviour by 'enthusiasts'

Sorry but I disagree, For one thing when people do enter football matches it disrupts the running of the event and the people who do it are hardly interested in the event Ie the result of the game. Where as in this instance the person involved is clearly a supporter of the event and an enthusiast, ...

Re: Despicable behaviour by 'enthusiasts'

By purchasing a ticket you agree to abide by the rules and regulations (otherwise known as Terms and Conditions) at said event. People don't just cross the barrier at major football matches because there aren't barriers at smaller matches.... when they do there are repurcussions for those involved ...

Re: Despicable behaviour by 'enthusiasts'

Sorry its a little of an over reaction to me Been to shows where are no ropes for aircraft starting off and taxing out right past your face, nothing different to a car show. Ok its against the rules but calling for them to be banned is over the top to me. As for naming and shaming if I was the star ...

Just to ask if the Supermarine Scimitar is still on display as it was one of the few left in the world in one piece. Also the Shuttle has visited the U.K,. when in May 1983 the USS Enterprise and its carrier NASA Boeing 747 came to RAF Fairford. The Enterprise never went into space but remained in ...
