Re: Kemble Open Weekend - The Red Arrows, a Different View

Hey Dan..... no probs with the taxi service - wouldn't have wanted "Growler" the security guard to have been on your case....

The end results justified the task in hand - brilliant to see something so different.

Re: Lyneham Antanov 124 Landed

Anyone got any timing info on this Antanov at Lyneham? While trying to sleep at Kemble all of us were woken in the early hours of Saturday (or was it Sunday) morning by something very loud but slow passing overhead in the darkness... Best bets were this aircraft as it was too loud for anything more ...

Re: Kemble Battle Of Britian Day

Although somewhat used to seeing the displays put on by Air Atlantique (spend a lot of time at Coventry with my Hunter), it was indeed a very 'spirited' Dakota display on Sunday....

Nice shots from a very enjoyable and busy weekend....
Just got home from working this one, and what a packed out weekend we had. Sunday exceeded all expectations with a bumper crowd and some nice weather once the morning mist had cleared...

Suitably tired now but well worth the hard work.

Re: Hawker Hunter F. Mk. 6

Though it appears I've painted the seat wrong That's a kind offer of a look around, if ever I'm in the Coventry area I may just take you up on it No, you've done well on the seat - what you see on that gallery is the distinctly non-standard use of a parachute pack & harness used on mine to perm...

http://www.internetmodeler.com/1999/february/galleria/galleria-walkaround.htm This link should take you to a modelling gallery that uses my Hunter as the main example (note: prior to extensive refurb and repaint). Should give you some useful pointers for detailing - unless you want to visit XF382 p...

Re: Vintage pair

Was indeed a sad loss all round. Worked on WA669 whilst it was still at Brawdy with VZ467 (Winston) Meteor - happy memories... To lose one aircraft / crew was bad enough - to lose all three was awful. Back then I had thought the RAF might bring back VZ467 into display use, but it wasn't going to hap...
