Re: A-W Meteor NF.14 WS788 Restoration Project

Sadly it may have just been a bit or artistic licence on the part of the artwork producer, as no Meteor is listed as a participant for that show Graham :(

 I'm finding it hard to comprehend that this is a 1/72 kit to be fair. The attention to detail is stunning! Well done!

Jacking up the Navy Bucc simulates the take-off attitude when being catapult launched.. Impressive that it was replicated for this photoshoot!

Sadly it seems to be true - just been sent a photo of a seizure notice affixed to one at Glasgow, with an update saying also it's happening at Manchester as well.

Wow Rich, that's quite a comprehensive update indeed! Although I've been keeping an eye on what's happened on facebook etc, it's good to read the overall progress in one hit too... It was certainly an interesting turn around for 963 and your team in 2019, and it was certainly an emotional return for...

Bloodhound LSR does (or ultimately will) have three engines!
Almost overlooked is the Jaguar V8 onboard which is both an auxilary power unit and will be the oxidiser motor for the hybrid rocket....

Re: Structure of RAF and FAA circa 1987

Certainly brings it home how the Royal Air Force I joined in 78 has shrunk so much.... I see most of my military history in Museums these days - that hits home when I'm constantly saying "worked on that / flew in that" etc... I can look back with nostalgic eyes, and some great memories of...

Quite possibly these were the five aircraft from Lyneham Flying Club (based at Cotswold Airport) and PA28 types, flying the RAF100 baton from Cotswold Airport to St Athan this morning.

Dan - the Midlands had several visits by the Graf Zeppelin, having been hit mistakenly during 1916. After the war (exact date not known by me), this image was captured over West Bromwich, which must have made a startling view for the locals! https://farm1.staticflickr.com/817/39272152760_4f2c16c07b_...

Wow, clear photos for sure!
So its a Hartzell prop, and now a thorough search of the applications is needed. The following document from Hartzell may help then:

Re: Propeller ID please?

Well I've ruled out Chipmunk and Bulldogs after looking at photos, but the black & white markings are familiar on the older RAF trainers like that. But I'm stumped by the tip shape too.... is there anything marked at the base of the blade where it would meet the hub? Props should have part numbe...

I have to agree with the inaccuracies on this interactive map, and more worrying - there is no obvious contact method to point out errors found either - which means the valuabe resource nature of this interactive map goes un-checked.

Peter, I'm loving the updates on what is going to be a special RAF100 show.
That Wessex was amazing to see last year - now she's looking even better!

And Black Mike is looking good - one of my ex-RAF colleagues is part of that team and they've done an amazing job!!
