Re: RAF Scampton Air Show 2017
It would appear that the Autogyro that was displaying at Scampton had an incident on departure earlier today...crew unhurt according to official source:

Unfortunately Craig, you're link back to photobucket does not work as they've disabled third party hosting unless you pay them.... Re: The White Helmets in their final season
Great set of photos! Saw them perform at the recent Cawdor Barracks Open Day (former RAF Brawdy) in July. Sad to hear then that they were disbanding - personally I felt that the skills needed were still valid no matter what the role of the current Armed Forces.. things like discipline / teamwork etc...

That first shot.... awesome Peter!
That Vietnam scene..... amazing!
That was some "little event in Shropshire" I have to say. You want to have a word with the organising team and thank them for getting that Atlas and staging the Vietnam set-piece
Oh wait......

A colleague at RIAT took a photo of what may be the same airframe arriving there? Union Jack tail as per the current fleet?

That sounds like the pair recently purchased by the owner of the airworthy Whirlwind who stated that the hope is to return one to flight, the other acting as spares ship? Edit: They are the ones. From their facebook page on 9th June.... Whirlwind is very excited to share with you her two new friends...

Couldn't hear the majorty of any commentary to be fair, but then I rarely make a point of trying to listen. In fairness though - the arrival of the B-52 was rather a surprise for everyone, given that Sally-B was still trundling around the skies mid-display..... I have no idea how planned that was - ...

I'm struggling to take in that the Royal Air Force of today only requires an order of ten airframes to fulfill the contract?

From the website, flying display finished approx 17:30, but the showgroudn remains open until 19:00. However, as you mentioned arranging transport (a lift I assume), best have a read on the travel section about that, as the traffic is flowing one-way only and that makes it difficult to get near inbo...

John did jumps with both the Red Devils and the Falcons....
It was in 1973 with the Falcons that he got the world records.
Interesting site to read up on the parachuting days here:

Absolutely stunning photo set there! Being in the RAF at the time of most of yours shots, and working airshows - it was easy to look back at these days again, and remind myself of when we were all incredibly fortunate to witness what we did. The sheer abundance of variety and pre H&S days make f...

Great photos of the end of an era at Binbrook.... I was sent there on detachment in '88 to assist the riggers with an urgent check on spars after a Saudi one was lost I believe. Somehow we managed to check the entire fleet - airworthy and non-airworthy ones dotted around. One thing I learned from th...
