Skeeter G-SARO

Todays oldie is another favourite of mine - Saunders-Roe Skeeter G-SARO. A regular in the sky over Scotland in the late seventies and early eighties, based at Dalcross it would drop in to Dundee for fuel en route south to various shows. Francis Chamberlain often displayed her at Strathallan, startin...

Re: Miles Student

Yes I worked on that aircraft whilst with Aces High, the accident happened when there was an engine failure on take off and instead of the pilot putting it down in the field next door he decided to turn it back to land on the airfield at Duxford and as a result the pilot did make a bit of a mess of...

Twin Pin G-BCWF/APRS in happier times

With Twin Pioneer G-APRS seeming destined to become a glorified caravan, here's a shot of her at Scone in her prime with Flight One back in the golden days of 1988. At least there is one still active in Oz. https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4648/25535586457_cf39361a00_b.jpg ALAN_POTTS_19880705_0001 by ...

Miles Student

The one and only, resided for some time at Glasgow in the early Eighties, seen here after a wash and brush up prior to being put up for sale. Sadly it's new life down south was cut short with a take off crash at Duxford. The aircraft is dispalyed at the Museum of Berkshire Aviation. 1. https://farm5...

Great to see some shots of it working. Is it joining the ship at Montrose as per its arrival?

Airlift Super Puma works the Queensferry Crossing.

Spotting a Norwegian Super Puma on FR24, clearly undertaking work at the soon to be opened (Wed 30th August) Queensferry Crossing over the River Forth, I gambled that it would still be there at the end of a 40 mile dash. Luckily it was and while showers passed all around I stayed dry and warm in the...

Re: Aberdeen Airport Open Day 1984

Remember this one well, as ever with Scotland, such promise with a cracking range of types totally stuffed by the weather. Had forgotten the Phantom and Lightning being there but do remember a Mersk 737 deploying it's thrust reversers half way down the runway whilst still at about ten feet up!

Back in the eighties, Leuchars was busiest on a Friday afternoon with USAFE jets from from all over descending on the base for golf at St Andrews.

Re: Swedish Coast Guard arrives Norwich.

Shame about the light - she looked great in the sun! It clealy flew a mission of some sort en route as it left EDI at 11 48 routing "TARTN-NATEB-then as flightplanned" at 5000 feet, so I'm guessing 3-4 hours over the North Sea. :ninja:

Swedish Coast Guard departs Edinburgh

An overnight stopper at Edinburgh en route to Norwich, this Swedish Coast Guard Dash-8 got airborne quickly in the very stiff (and cold) breeze, but thankfully the crew elected to keep it low for me. Re: CMYK Printing

It's been a long time since I had to deal with this, but from memory... In Photoshop set your working CMYK to the profile you want to use edit/asign profile , then go to view/proof set up and select working CMYK. Select view/gamut warning . Now you'll see any colors that are outwith the range that t...

Perhaps rather than painting the cowlings red, they could have painted a detailed engine on them. That's how most of the customers are used to seeing them.

Washington National in June.

Two weeks in Washington in the middle of June gave me the opportunity to make a couple of brief stops at Washington National Airport between activities. Fortunately the volume of traffic meant I got plenty of action in the time available. The shots were taken from Dangerfield Island and the famous G...
