Remember this one well, as ever with Scotland, such promise with a cracking range of types totally stuffed by the weather. Had forgotten the Phantom and Lightning being there but do remember a Mersk 737 deploying it's thrust reversers half way down the runway whilst still at about ten feet up!

Back in the eighties, Leuchars was busiest on a Friday afternoon with USAFE jets from from all over descending on the base for golf at St Andrews.

Really good set, that first AMX sems a bit excited.

Shame about the light - she looked great in the sun! It clealy flew a mission of some sort en route as it left EDI at 11 48 routing "TARTN-NATEB-then as flightplanned" at 5000 feet, so I'm guessing 3-4 hours over the North Sea.
