Re: BATMAN... S-M

I don't think it is - but 99% go west east including Tucanos the same day. In general it's very quiet just a couple of Hercs in a good month and the odd Hawk/Tucano but last week we started Monday with a three ship of Tucanos and a Herc in the afternoon, the Tornado pair on Tue then further Tucanos ...

I wish these guy's would advertise where they're going to go, I keep missing them. I'll try North Berwick RNLI in a couple of weeks.

East Midlands cargo 30/06/15

A work commitment with a local company gave me the opportunity to spend an evening at EMA shooting cargo. My main objective was DHL’s 767’s and A300’s but I ended up with so much more on a perfect clear blue and hot evening. Runway 09 was in use which I thought initially was less than ideal however ...

Concur with all above. Have had access to three 18-135's, two were rubbish and one was passable at best.

Sounds like a similar idea to the Hasselblab H-5MMS, which turns 50 mb into 200 mb. Sorry to tell you Brian but from my experience unless it's welded to a block of concrete, the gain ain't worth the hassle.

Bringing up the rear on Northolt

In my defence I had to do some work when I was down in the vicinity of Northolt. These are my favourite participants, rest are on my Flickr. Thanks to Phil, Lee, Sam and the boys & girls over at OPS for all the hard work, another good night. 1. https://farm9.staticflickr.com/8737/16137368853_9b4...

Edinburgh 07/02/2015

My first trip out of the year was to EDI - my local, to catch the Austrian Airlines winter Saturday service. For once my luck was in as a second Austrian machine, a Fokker F100 positioned up from London to cater for extra demand. I've included a couple of regulars too. 1. https://farm9.staticflickr....

Looking at The Photographer's Ephemeris, we'll have about 20 mins of moon rising from the eastern horizon before it disappears behind the hangar around 18 50... if it's clear.

Mosquito departs Strathallan 21/12/1984

The scariest thing about getting older is that events that feel recent (-ish) can actually turn out to be a long time ago. One such memory was of the Strathallan Aircraft Museum's Mosquito RS712 leaving the museum to begin it's protracted journey to Kermit Weeks' Fantasy of Flight Museum in Florida ...

Happy to help. It's the standard of work on here and elsewhere that got me back in to the hobby after too long a time away. Sadly there's no magic switch to getting good results, it's about incremental improvements each time you shoot and process, studying other peoples results - particularly from t...

Re: Help needed today please!!!

As Ewart says, Tripod & long exposure. If your tripod isn't the sturdiest hang something heavy on it to add a bit of stability, and take a bit of time to get the head level. I've had good results using Aperture priority at f8-10 and then letting the meter work out the rest, but that's at Northol...

Re: Modern Military in the UK - have you lost interest too?

When I was a teenager back in the early eighties, we used to sit on the hill at Leuchars and complain that it wasn't as good as the old days, they had Meteors, Hunters, Super Sabres and Valiants, a lot better than the modern identikit grey/green things we were watching...
