Re: BA olympic paint scheme

Horrible, just as snide and "un British" as Stella McCartneys frankly rank Olympic Team kit!

Does nobody who signs checks in this country know that our national flag is RED, WHITE and BLUE??!!

Re: Just Jane, East Kirkby

Hi and thanks for the kind comments. My understanding is that Just Jane is very close to being airworthy with zero houred Merlins now being ready for use. I am sure there would be some modifications required to fly today in regards to GPS and comms etc but these would not detract from the aircraft. ...

Many thanks to the Panton brothers, the air crew, museum staff, volunteers and the brilliant reenactment team who really brought the aircraft and airfield to life! I have processed some of these images to give the appearanc...

2 x Navy Lynx

2 x Navy Lynx went over Lightwater in Surrey a few minutes ago following the M3 towards London. Not sure if RN, possibly German, could be heading for German Navy ship docked at the moment in London?

Any ideas?

Re: F-35C - Hook not up to spec.

Other F-35 program problems identified in the QLR Report included the helmet visual cueing which is seriously affected by design issues and airframe buffet in the heart of the combat envelope. Also, all F-35 variants suffer from paper-thin weight margins, unsafe fuel dumping, flight restrictions on...

Re: 9/11 - Where Were You?

I was in a meeting on something like the 35th floor of Canary Wharf. The alarms went off and we evacuated the building, it was only when I got outside that my sister called to ask where I was that day and told me what was going on! The trip back to Waterloo to "escape" London was a nervy o...

Interesting to see that the last 2-3 pages are all about what we think of BAE Systems!! Amazing suck up there to the sponsrs, it is assumed the average enthusiast or show goer gives a flying toss about BAE!!

Oh, so even the Tonka demo has cancelled?! Think I shall have to reserve judgement on going till the last minute then, just in case anything does rock up.

Shame because it's a great venue if you are in that part of the World.

Re: Culdrose Air Day 2011

Any updates known? I am in Cornwall next week but am still unsure of using a day of my holiday to go to Culdrose? Weather might not be an issue this year but it still seems to be "Yeoviltons poor cousin" as far as participants are concerned?

What's everyone else doing or thinking at the mo?

Re: Legends 2011

There is a lot being said about the sad demise of BBD, what about the positives of the show itself? For me I had to make a choice this year on Legends or Fairford, I made the right choice for sure in choosing Legends! Positives, well it's cheaper for a start, is Fairford worth £40 odd quid, NO, I wo...

Re: Legends 2011

The Skyraider/Sptifire near miss, was indeed VERY close. I was down on the crowd line where the P-38 was parked and put my camera down and started to move as the outcome was not looking too clever! As for the Fokker and the "nose over", nobody has mentioned the fact that it was obvious it ...

Was about to mention this mornings near miss with the Skyraider myself, was great flying and awareness to not collect the Spit during that run in!

Great shame about Big Beautiful Doll but at least both pilots where able to walk away!

Royal Navy Lynx over Lightwater, Surrey. Following usual M3 route towards London, slower and lower than usual probably due to cloud base!
